We gather at Mom's for Christmas eve.
All of the children around her Christmas tree.
We start handing out gifts with each persons name
I look up at mommy somethings just not the same
All the kids eyes ,are filled with joy
As they start opening their little toys
Sisters and borthers and even the in laws
Are laughing and joking without a pause
We sing Chrismas carols as we sit by the tree
eating cookies and candies made by our Mommy
The children are excited Santa comes tonight
but christmas for mommy just isnt right
we notice a package left under the tree
We look at the tag out of curiosity
there was a silence fell over the house
as my Sister read the name out loud
To marlin with love is what it read
We didn't understand since daddy was dead
that's when mommy spoke she said quiet please
we gathered around at mommys knees
Within that package holds a gift so dear
it's something we have this time of year
though Daddy isn't here his gift he'll recieve
He get's it here every Christmas eve
Our love you see , you can see it so clear
as you sit around with your christmas cheer
no argueing or fighting in your voices I hear
then down her cheek fell one single tear
I wrapped that box with so tenderly
and placed it under my christmas tree
I filled it with love to him from us
and added a little christmas touch
so when you all leave and go to your homes
I won't be here on christmas alone
he'll pick up his gift and hear all our voices
he'll hear the kids laughs and the toys noises
He'll be here this christmas eve
right here , right here with me
this isn't a Christmas without Daddy
He visits us each year and stands by the tree
we all sat there and spoke not a word
we thought about the words we just heard
we placed the package back under the tree
adressed to Daddy with love from Mommy!!!!
