State Champion

The reason I run at home is
Without a run
I miss a practice
Without a practice
I miss a race
Without a race
I miss the finish
Without a finish
I miss a part of my life

Cross Country Slogan

Cross Country is a sport... the rest are just games.

Cross Country... All it takes is all you've got

Cross Country is one HILL of a sport

It's not how fast you run... but how long you run fast.

Don't worry about the map... WE will show you the way.

I may not be able to throw a ball, lift 500 pounds or slam dunk a basketball, but I can run 3.1 miles, non-stop, Can You?

We're not your normal flower pickin', dress wearin' girls...
We're Cross-Country Runners!

Can't talk now... gotta run!

We run with everything we got - And we got a lot!

I ran cross country for 4 years... and all I got was this stupid T-Shirt!

If cross-country is so easy, how come no football players run?

If you can't stand the heat, leave the meet!!

If you want to run with the big dogs, you can't train with the puppies.

It's a runner's thang... you wouldn't understand.

It's rude to count the number of people you pass...... out loud

Slogan Is From The Logan County Cross Country Site

Lora Hopkins
Varsity Girls Only Senior Runner

Lora will be deeply missed next year by her team, coaches, and parents.  She is also on the Calloway County Lakers Swim Team.  Everyday Lora would be at cross country practice and then head off for swim practice.  She was the only senior to go to state with a full team since the early 1980's.  We are looking forward to seeing Lora next year at some of the cross country races to help cheer for her team mates.  Best of luck in all she does.

Jonathan Holzapfel
Varsity Boys Only Senior Runner

Jonathan, known as JJ, has ran one year of cross country, and he also runs track. He was Rotary Student of the Month for October. He is on the speech team. He works at Wendy's part-time. He will be attending UK next year, and is wanting to go to law school. JJ is one of the hardest workers on the team. This fall he was running cross country, doing Speech team, and working at Wendy's. Even when he had to work at 4:00, he still showed up asked what he needed to run and did it on his own, so he could get to work on time. JJ will be missed next year by his team, coaches, and parents. Best of luck in all he does.
