AJ continued to let Kristen cry into his shoulder until she slowly fell asleep and then he got up and walked into the waiting room. "What's wrong with you?" Kevin asked when he saw that AJ had a sad expression on his face.
"I just found out that I was going to be the father of a baby boy," AJ said as he sat down in a chair with his face in his hands.
"I'm sorry, I'm sure you would have been a great father," Kevin said trying to comfort him.
"Now I don't believe what you just said for even a second. You probably think that I like to party too much and wouldn't be able to handle the responsiblity of being a father."
"No, I'm being serious, AJ. I'm sure you would have made a great father. How did you find out anyways?"
"Kristen woke up and told me. She didn't know anything about losing the baby and she cried herself to sleep when I told her."
"So, are you two like back together?" Howie asked and AJ nodded his head. "Are you going to ask her to marry you then?"
"Who said anything about marriage to you?"
"Toni told me that when you found out she was pregnant you bought a ring and everything and you were going to ask her to marry you. Is that true?"
"Yeah, it's true. I want to ask her but I don't know what she would say after everything she's been through the past couple of days."
"Well, there's only one way to find out," Kevin said with a smile.
"You mean to tell me that you would actually support it if we got married? Wouldn't you be worried about management and what the fans think or something?"
"No, I wouldn't. Management and fans can't get in the way of someone you love. If you love her then just worry about what you and her think about the whole thing. I really think you should ask her if you love her enough to begin a family with her."
"Thanks Kevin. Mind if I borrow your car again?" AJ asked as he got up to leave.
"Yeah sure. Where are you going?"
"To my place to get the ring," AJ said taking the keys from Kevin and leaving.
"I don't think I've ever seen AJ love someone he's only had sex with once, so much," Brian said.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" Angela asked.
"What?"
"I swear all men think about is sex. I'm going to go talk to Toni since she's probably awake. I'll leave you guys to talk about the only thing you think you know about," Angela said leaving. AJ got to his place and went looking through his bag that he carried everywhere with him while on tour. He dug to the bottom of it until he pulled out the small black box that the ring was in. He opened the box and sat on the floor looking at the ring he had bought months ago. He thought about what life would be like if he was married to Kristen if she said yes to him. He sat there for a few minutes and then put the box away and got back in Kevin's car and drove back to the hospital.
"So, where's the ring? I have to see what this looks like," Kevin said in the waiting room.
"I'm not asking her."
"What? Why?" Howie asked confused.
"Because if I asked her now I would only be thinking about myself. I want to wait until she's out of the hospital and I know things are okay between the two of us."
"Good call," Kevin said. AJ got up and went walking back towards Kristen's room. For the next two weeks AJ spent almost every hour of the day by Kristen's side at the hospital. Toni had gone home a week earlier. She couldn't bare to go back to her apartment after everything that happened and with Kristen still being in the hospital. Nick went to her place and packed up all of her belongings and took them back to his place. He asked Toni to come and live with him and she gladly acceppted. It was finally time that the doctors allowed Kristen to go home and AJ was ecstatic.
"You ready?" AJ asked when he got her stuff together and she finished getting dressed.
"Yeah," Kristen said as AJ pushed the wheel chair over to her and helped her sit down in it. "I can walk on my own. I don't need to be pushed you know."
"I know but you've been in the hospital forever so you get first class service," AJ said giving her a kiss on the cheek and wheeling her out of the room.
"Does that mean I get a ride home in a limo?"
"Not hardly." They got to AJ's car and he helped Kristen in the passenger seat and loaded her stuff he bought her in the back and took the wheel chair back into the hospital. "I sort of did something the other night while you were sleeping before I asked your opinion about it," AJ said as they pulled out of the parking lot.
"Do I want to know what it is?"
"Yeah, but if you don't like the idea just tell me and no hard feelings okay?"
"That's fine."
"Toni moved in with Nick since she didn't want to go back to the apartment so I figured you wouldn't want to go back there either. I cleaned out your room and brought all your stuff to my place. I got rid of all the furniture in one of the rooms and put your stuff in there. I think Toni put the apartment up for sale," AJ explained.
"So are you trying to figure out if it's okay with me that you decided for me to move in with you?" Kristen asked as AJ nodded his head. "I'd love to," she said leaning over and giving him a kiss on his cheek. Not to long later they arrived at AJ's place and AJ walked with Kristen inside the house. AJ turned around to close and lock the door and saw Kristen walking down the hall so he followed her. He went into his room where he saw her laying on his bed and he went and laid down next to her.
"You okay?" he asked as Kristen shook her head no and tears began falling from her eyes. "What's wrong then?"
"I'm just scared. What if something like that happens again?"
"It won't," AJ said reasurringly.
"But what if it does AJ? It hurt so bad, I don't think I could go through that again."
"It's not going to happen again. Toni confessed against that guy while you were still in the hospital and he's in prison for a long time. He won't be able to reach you and I'll be here to protect you."
"I'm glad. But I have one suggestion about me living here with you."
"What's that?"
"I know you put together my own bedroom but would it be too much of a hassle for me to just share your's?" Kristen asked with a smile.
"That was my whole plan," AJ said as he hovered over Kristen and began kissing her. Their kiss became deeper and deeper as Kristen wrapped her arms around AJ and he got on top of her but from the waist up their bodies weren't touching. Kristen pulled AJ's shirt op over his head as he allowed her fingers to roam every inch of his upper body. AJ put his hands up Kristen's shirt and accidently put a little bit too much pressure on her stomach causing her to pull away from their kiss and she cringed against the pain since she was still sore. "Oh man Kristen, I'm so sorry. I completely forgot," AJ apologized.
"Don't worry about it. It's okay," Kristen lied since it still hurt as she went to kiss AJ again.
"No, we can't do this," AJ said pulling away from her. "You're still not in any condition to be having sex.
"AJ I'm fine, really."
"No you're not. You wouldn't have pulled away and tensed up if you didn't feel any pain when I ran my hands across your stomach. Listen, I'll go start up a hot bubble bath for you. Hot baths always make your body feel better," AJ said giving her a quick kiss on the lips.
"I'd like that," Kristen said as he went into the bathroom and closed the door behind him. Kristen went to the linen closet and grabbed a towel then went back into AJ's room and got undressed then wrapped the towel around her body. About five minutes after she heard the water stop running she got up to go into the bathroom to see what was taking so long for AJ to get out of the bathroom. She opened the door and looked at the large bathtub and saw AJ laying in it with bubbles all over him.
"It's about time you cared to join me," AJ said as Kristen closed the door behind her.
"I thought this hot bath was just for me so I could relax my body?" Kristen asked questioningly joking around.
"Yeah well I'm the part of the bath that relaxs your body," AJ said with a grin.
"I thought you said no sex?"
"We're not going to. This tub may be large but we'd be moving around too much and be smacking our body against the tiles and stuff. So are you going to join me or just leave me hanging?"
"I'll join you," Kristen said as she dropped her towel letting it fall to the floor. She looked at AJ and saw his eyes roam all over her body as a huge grin formed on his face. "You don't have to stare at me like that," Kristen said standing next to the tub about ready to get in.
"Hey we can work it both ways," AJ said jumping up revealing his butt naked body as he posed idiotically for her.
"Well Mr. McLean, I do believe you're looking a little hard," Kristen said with a smile as she checked him out.
"Well, fuck you then," AJ said sarcastically as he laid back down in the tub.
"I already tried that but I'm not in any condition to remember," Kristen said getting in the tub and sitting between AJ's legs as she leaned against his chest. "You're feeling a little hard too," she said with a smile.
"Are you horney or something?" AJ asked wrapping his arms around her and holding her close.
"Only for you," Kristen said as she turned her head and kissed AJ.
"Okay what kind of drugs did them doctors put you on?" AJ asked confused.
"Why?"
"Because never, I mean never, since I met you and we started dating have you told me that I looked or felt hard and that I made you horney. What's with the change of expression towards me all of a sudden?"
"Why you don't like it?"
"Oh no, I love it just as much as I love you," he said giving her a kiss on the cheek and then they were silent for a couple of seconds until Kristen spoke.
"I'm sorry AJ," she said.
"About what?"
"For breaking up with you. I was being stupid and I'm sorry. But I never did stop loving you."
"Well that's all that matters," AJ said kissing her again. They just laid in there for about another hour until Kristen started to fall asleep. AJ got out and wrapped a towel around his waist then helped Kristen out and wrapped a towel around her. They went into his room and Kristen put on a pair of her panties and AJ got one of his t-shirts out and put it on her. Kristen crawled into bed and AJ tucked her in giving her a kiss goodnight.
