Nathan
The party was in two days. Kayla made the house look so clean, it looked awesome I mean, we were her for like 3 weeks almost and we already have the house glistening. Kayla’s also trying to get me to open up to others. I just don’t know if I’ll ever be outgoing like her. She had 3 friends from her work over last night and we played Outburst. I was the judge though, so I didn’t have to be the person that’s screamin’ things out.
The next door neighbor is a young couple with 3 kids and the guy, Roger, about 27, offered to cook for the baroque. Kayla and I both gladly excepted. His wife, Sandy, 25, has two boys and a girl. Gregory, 7, Teresa, 5, and Randy, 2, are all darlings. I also met this 17-year old guy that lives across the street, and a few houses down. Nathan I think his names was… He seemed nice. Just then the doorbell rang. I ran up to get it.
I opened the door a little shocked. “Nathan right?”
“Yeah, hi Zoey.”
“So, why ya here?”
“I wanted to know if you’d like to go to the basketball court or something tonight?”
“Sure! I’d love to! Let me get changed. You can come in, I’ll be back in a few minutes.” Oh man! This guy is already like asking me to hang out! This is awesome! I ran up to my room and changed into my personalized basketball jersey.
When we were walking into the park, I saw ‘him’ again. I could see him slam-dunk the ball into the net and get high fives from four other people. There was a bunch of teenagers around that roared up with cheers. By the time we walked up to the court, the five guys had already walked away. Nathan introduced me to a bunch of people but of course I only uttered about 5 words total. I wasn’t having much fun until a couple guys started to play. They were playing 5-4 and no other guy wanted to play so I spoke up. “Hey can I play on your team?”
“You?”
Okay, that guy was rude. “Yeah, now can I play or not.”
“Yeah.. Sure...” So we started to play and I never got the ball. Finally, about 10 minutes into the game this guy named Luke passed it to me. As I grabbed it, I heard someone else say, ‘why’d you pass it to her.’ I ignored it and drove down the court for a lay-up. As I made it in, I heard the captain of the other team say, ‘why didn’t you block her? She was wide open!’ I just snickered. I heard all the girls and Nathan cheering me on from the sidelines as Luke gave me a high five. First time in Florida I actually smiled because of pure happiness.
