Pool Threats

A few days passed. Melanie kept her distance from her sister. For some reason she had trouble communicating with Angie and to keep her cool, stayed away whenever Angie walked into the room. Melanie was enjoying swimming her laps when the patio door opened. It was Angie. “Oh, hey Mel I didn’t know you were out here.” Just then Nick and Brian came out of the doors too. “Brian, that’s my sister Mel.”

“Melanie Tanner, how are you doing? It looks like you are getting along with my world as well as I’m getting along with yours.” Both ditz’ had questioning looks on their faces making Brian and Melanie laugh.

“We met before.”

“Yeah, told ya Frack that I ate with a girl on my break the other day!”

“Oh, YOU were that girl!”

“Yeah Angela, I was.”

“Okay people. I feel some tension. Let’s just swim okay?”

“I agree with B-Rok here.” Nick threw his shirt off and jumped in the water. Brian did the same. Angela just sat down in a lawn chair with her very-showy bikini on. “Angela, why don’t you come in the water and swim?”

“I said you guy could spend the day and swim. I never said I’d join you. I’m not a swimming kind of person. I just enjoy the sun.”

“Oh, Okay whatever.” Brian and Melanie where on the other side of the pool.

“Well what do you expect from the Senior Prom Queen when she’s only a Junior? A tommy-boyish attitude? I don’t think so.” Melanie said that barely audible for anyone to hear. But of course Brian did here.

When Angela went inside for a minute to make lemon-aid Melanie finally spoke up to Nick. “Nick, what do you see in my sister?”

“Girl, your sister is gorgeous! Not that you aren’t a doll, but man! She’s all that!”

“Nick! Besides her looks! I want to know what you see IN my sister! Not on how she looks to you!” Melanie was starting to get mad. “I mean you seem like a good person and you don’t deserve her!”

Nick was stunned. I don’t deserve her? “She’s nice, sweet, generous…”

“Full of bull, a drag queen, weak, total fake, a slut, oh and did I mention she’s just one big lie? You know what, I can’t take another second with you drooling over her. Good bye. Sorry Brian, see you around.” Brian gave a smile and did a little wave. Melanie got out of the pool and calmly walked away without looking back and her chin up high. Her furious strait face vanished as she walked in her room. As she closed her door she silently laughed to herself. “Man that felt good!”

Back outside:

Nick was still stunned; he was just staring at nothing, like he was in a totally different world. Angela came back out with the lemon aid. “What’s going on guys? Where’s Mel?” Nick didn’t answer. He was still thinking at what Melanie said so Brian answered for him.

“She said she didn’t want to swim anymore. And then she just walked in the house.” For the rest of the day Nick hardly paid attention to Angela at all, making her mad. Nick likes Angela and all but he couldn’t keep his mind off of thinking of what Melanie said.
