DB Mike White is a Cardinal...again!
July 29, 2000
Cornerback Mike White became a Cardinal in the spring of 1999 when he commited to John L. Smith's staff to become apart of that years recruiting class. He transferred to Louisville from Jones County College and participated in spring drills last year.
However, his presence was short felt. Following spring practice, White left the team to pursue a career in the rap industry.
A year later, the talented defensive back has returned to the Cardinal fold. It was announced during a recent radio appearance by a handful of Louisville coaches.
White teamed with current Cardinal defensive back Corey Wallace at Jones County College. Following his sophomore campaign at Jones County, White was named as a first-team all-Mississippi Junior College choice. He totaled 24 tackles, 23 of them solo, three interceptions and a fumble recovery during the 1998 season. He helped guide Jones County to a 12-0 record and the NJCAA South Division Championship.
As a freshmen, White saw considerable time at running back, accounting for 681-yards on 113 carries, scoring 10 touchdowns.
White, who measures in at 5-10, 180 pounds, has exceptional speed and if can get into football shape by the season opener, should help bolster the Louisville secondary.
Look for more information on White once practice begins.
