Madison having a great month

First the former University of Louisville defensive back is named the Miami Dolphins MVP, the first ever DB to be given the honor in teams history, and now the team that drafted him in the second round of the 1997 draft has awarded him a sizeable contract.

Madison signed an eight-year, $54-million contract keeping him in Miami until 2008. He was also given an $11-million signing bonus. His new contract is the largest ever in Miami Dolphins history.

Earlier in the month, Madison was named the awarded the Dan Marino Most Valuable Player Award in a vote of the South Florida media and Dolphin fans.

Since leaving Louisville, Madison has made a big impact on opposing offenses throughout the NFL. Last season he was named a starter in the Pro Bowl and led the league with seven interceptions. In his three years in the NFL, Madison has picked off 16 passes, which ties an NFL mark for the most interceptions in three seasons.
