Introduction

In a honey bee hive, there are three different types of bees. There's the queen bee whose only job is reproduction. The worker bees that scavenge for food. They supply the food, look after the young and make the bee hive They are all female and are the most abundant in the bee hive. Then there's the males who are actually usless. When the winter comes along, most males are forcefully kicked out and left to die because they have no use and will use up the food supply.
Food storage for the winter is extremely important if the colony is to survive through to the spring. This makes the worker bees' roll very important.
