~I Want You~
I Want You
by Carolyne
('I Want You': part 21)
There was a long pause that made Daniel un easy. "Darren, will you be
fine?"
Then, Daniel could hear the sound of tears. Darren was crying. (Oh my God,
what did i do?) he wondered.
The sobs became louder to the point where Darren was almost wailing, his
head still under the covers.
Daniel quickly approached his bed, staring down at the covers that Darren
lay under, not kmowing what to say to him. "Darren, what's wrong?" he asked
with concern.
A long silence again.
"Darren, tell me what's bugging you, please" he said warmly.
"It's nothing" Darren replied in a shaky voice. "It's nothing, dammit! Go
away! I don't need you here now!"
Daniel couldn't beleive that he was hearing these harsh words from Darren.
Tears came to his eyes as he stepped away from where Darren was. "Fine, i'll
leave then" he yelled as he grabbed his jacket and opened the door. "I'm
obviously just a pain in the ass to you! That's all i've ever been to you,
isn't it?!" he said, tears quickly springing out from his emerald green
eyes. "I knew that you could have never loved me! I mean, why would you love
*me*? It's not as though i'm anything special to you!"
By now, Daniel could hear that Darren had stopped crying and was obviously
listening to him in silence.
"Good bye, Darren" he said through his tears. "Goodbye forever"
then he slammed the door behind him, leaving Darren by himself.
Rushing down the hallway, he ran down the stairs, taking each step in utter
sadness, praying that he could be taken away from this place.
Keeping his head down low so that no one else could see his tears, he rushed
through the lobby, out of the hotel, to the nearest bus stop.
Luckily no one else was there to witness his sadness; the stream of tears
that flowed down his face, onto the
cold pavement.
His heart ached painfully, and each breath that he took felt like a bullet
being shot into his lungs.
"Darren" he said wearily. "Why can't you see my love? Why can't you just
accept me for what i am?"
Then the bus arrived. Stepping into it, Daniel plunked a dollar into the
money slot and sat down in a seat near the back of the bus.
The bus was basically empty, except for an old couple that were sitting in
the front, and a young woman that was 3 seats beside his.
Pulling out a kleenex from his jacket pocket, he blew his nose and dabbed at
his eyes. "Ah, damn allergies!" he said outloud, trying to convince people
that he was reacting to something allergically, and not crying.
The young woman glanced at him, then went back to reading her novel.
Daniel couldn't get over the ammount of loneliness and the hurt that he felt
inside; as if someone had taken his heart and pulled it apart with their
bare hands. and in a way, Darren *had* done that to him.
He didn't know where he was headed, didn't know when he was coming back, and
he didn't care either.
He wished he was dead as he layed his head back against the seat, and closed
his eyes.
what will darren do?
