Justin rolled over and almost regretted it. All of his muscles screamed in pain as he fought to roll back over into the position he was just in. He opened his eyes and tried not to move that much, but stretch his arms just a little. He heard a laugh come from his left and turned his head. McKennah stood there, her hair still wet from the shower she had just gotten out of, dressed in jeans and a t-shirt. He groaned, "Shut up."
"Don't tell me to shut up, boy. You're the one that never insisted on working out EVER on your little vacation. Not my fault that you're sore from rehearsals."
She sat down on the edge of the bed and began to rub the tired and aching muscles of his shoulders. He groaned, this time not in pain, "That feels so good."
She smiled, "Better?"
"Much. Thank you."
"You're welcome."
N'Sync had just begun their summer tour of the States and were now in Maryland. 6 shows a week were already beginning to wear on the bunch and since they had just started; everyone was sore all the time.
Justin finally rolled over onto his back and sat up, "I think I need a hot shower."
"That'll probably help more.," She replied grabbing the remote and turning on the tv.
He nodded crawling out of the bed, "I'll be back."
"I'm gonna head down and get something to eat...you want me to just wait for you up here?"
He shook his head, "Nope, go on down, the others should be there."
She nodded, got up and kissed him, "See ya down there?"
He grinned, "You know it."
"See you then."
McKennah walked to the elevator and pressed the down button, waiting for the elevator to reach the floor she was on.
McKennah was sitting beside Andre and a new security person, Terren, when Justin came down from his shower looking dressed and refreshed.
His eyes darkened when he saw Terren grab her hand and place a kiss on the back of it; they both laughed as did Andre. Justin put some food on his plate from the buffet and went down the line..she hadn't even acknowledged him yet. It was if he didn't exist. Justin had a terrible jealous streak but it usually wasn't this bad with McKennah...ever.
He watched as Terren leaned in closer to McKennah and said something only she could hear; she smiled and turned her head to look at him a little more.
Justin carried his plate to a table where Lance was sitting and dropped his plate onto the table. Lance looked up from the newspaper he had been reading, "What's up your ass this morning?"
"Look at that.," Justin said.
Lance looked and then turned back and shrugged, "What?"
"Terren is SO all over her and she's just letting him!"
"Justin, dude, McKennah is a very likable person..she makes friends easily. Terren's the same way."
"I don't like it.," Justin grumbled as he began to eat.
"Go ask her about it then."
"She's too busy. Hell, she hasn't even looked at me once."
"Maybe she didn't notice.."
"Whatever."
All through the day, Justin was in a bad mood. He grumbled and grunted the answers he knew would satisfy anyone that asked him. He just wanted to go to his room and sit there and simmer for awhile. McKennah had even tried to talk to him but it was useless.
The two of them were walking through a park silently, side by side. It was drizzling but not to the point where they got too wet. McKennah finally stopped, "Justin, what is your problem!? This morning you were fine and since breakfast you have been a total ass!"
"Nothing's wrong, how many times do I have to tell you and everyone else that?!"
"Till we believe you!"
Justin sighed and dropped his arms to his sides, "The reason I'm in such a bad mood is because you're OPENLY flirting with Terren, that new security guard!"
Her mouth opened, then closed, then opened again as she gaped at him. "Excuse me? I was not flirting with him! We were just talking!"
"Yeah right McKennah!"
"Justin, we have talked about this over and over."
It was starting to rain harder now but neither paid any attention. "We have and yet you go and flirt openly with a guy, right in front of me!"
"I wasn't flirting, how many times do I have to tell you that?! We were talking, THAT WAS IT!"
"Quit lying McKennah!"
"I'm not Justin! Quit accusing me of things that are blatantly false!"
McKennah started to walk towards the entrance to the park where she could walk back to the hotel. Justin followed, "How long would you of waited till you could get in his pants, huh, McKennah? A week, two? A month? Or just a day??"
"Fuck you Justin Timberlake."
"I could go tell the whole world that that HAPPENED!"
She turned and he had to stop quickly so he wouldn't run into her, "You are so full of shit."
"ME?! Whatever!"
"I don't know why I ever agreed to go back with you and then I actually fell in love with you! Why the hell did I do something so stupid like that???"
"Just like I did with you!"
"Justin, you can't keep accusing me of things. We're supposed to trust one another completely..I trust you so much and I love you so much yet that is thrown out the window with you!"
She began to walk across the street again, not bothering to look to see if any traffic was coming. The rain was coming down in sheets now.
Then, Justin's life began to move in slow motion.
The car came.
McKennah stopped in the middle of the street and turned to see if he was following her again.
He began to take a step towards her, trying to warn her.
The car hit her.
Justin crumbled to the ground as the thunder roared above him and the rain came down on him just as hard. He didn't even realize it was him screaming and crying.
The car hit her.
The car hit her.
That was all he could think of. Over.
Over.
Over.
Again...and again and again.
And Again.
The car..
Hit Her.
