Madalyn held tightly to AJ's hand as the small plane began it's bumpy descent onto the ground. AJ smiled and let her squeeze the crap out of his hand. She hated to fly, he learned, but loved to travel.
The plane finally came to a stop and they both unbuckled their seatbelts and stood up. AJ brought out a blindfold, "You gotta put this on till I say to take it off.."
"AJ.."
"Nope..come on, at least pretend you like surprises..."
Madalyn sighed, she had decided that this weekend was going to be totally devoted to her and AJ...whatever her and AJ were. She wasn't going to be "mom" this weekend..she was going to be Madalyn.
She let AJ tie the blindfold around her face and then he took her hand and led her out of the plane, making sure she didn't fall or anything.
AJ stood behind her at the edge of the cliff of the house where they would be staying. The cliff looked down upon the clear waters of the Pacific ocean, clouds floated above them so close one could almost almost touch them. The blindfold was still on her and he could tell she was getting antsy and agitated. "Can you take it off now??"
He laughed, "Yeah...keep your eyes closed though..just for effect, ok?"
"Ok..I will."
He untied it and it fell away from her head and landed by her feet. He put his hands on her hips and leaned in closer to her. "Open them.," He whispered.
Her eyes shot open and he saw them widen in surprise. She looked around, no words coming from her mouth just yet. "Holy...AJ...this is...this is..gorgeous."
He smiled, "I thought you'd like it...you seem like an ocean girl.."
She turned around to look at the house behind them, "Do you own this?"
"Nah..a friend of mine does...so I called him and told him I'd be here this weekend and he said okay.."
She smiled, "It's perfect."
He took her hand, "Come on, let's go check out the house."
She smiled and let him lead her into the house.
Later that afternoon, the two of them went to the beach to catch the late afternoon sun and to get some swimming in.
AJ, being a guy, checked out Madalyn as she laid on her back on a beachtowl, sunglasses covering her eyes. But by the way she was breathing deeply and rhythmicly, he guessed she was napping.
She had a nice body...no, she had a great body. She was a little curvier in her stomach area but of course, that could be because she had a kid (duh), but it was pretty flat and toned.
AJ sighed and leaned back, his arms behind his head. He was having pretty strong feelings for Madalyn and he hoped they'd have time to talk about them. AJ had come to the conclusion that he wanted there to be a them.
He wanted her to be his and him to be hers.
But he had no clue whether she felt the same way. Well..he had some clue..but he wasn't positively sure just yet.
He heard her sigh and she pulled the sunglasses from her face and looked over, "Hey.."
He smiled, "Hey you..have a nice nap?"
A sleepy grin crossed her face, "Yep..."
"Wanna head back and get some dinner?"
"Yeah..I'm starved."
"Ok..come on then."
"Is it good?"
"Yeah..it's fine."
"Are you sure?"
"AJ!"
"Hey! Don't hit so hard!"
"Yeah well, you've asked me that at least ten times since we sat down. The food is fine, you can cook, WOOHOO!"
"Ok, okay..smartass."
"That's right...and don't you forget it."
"I know..I know. I won't..believe me."
She laughed and it was music to his ears.
AJ had worked hard to have a good dinner ready for them after swimming at the beach. He was afraid he'd done something wrong and had asked over and over if the food was alright. Madalyn was beginning to get a little mad...but she was sexy when she was mad. He liked that.
"So...why'd you want a weekend with just me?," She asked.
AJ leaned back, a wineglass in his left hand, "I..I know we've decided to ya know, go out with one another..but it seemed as if one of us was always busy with something else and we never had a free moment together."
"Did you come up with this on your own?"
He shook his head with a smile, "Unfortuantely, I can't take all the credit. Nick actually gave me the idea."
"He did?"
"Yep."
"Well it was a very good idea...I'll have to thank him."
"Really? It was a good idea?"
She nodded, "Yeah.."
"I didn't mean to keep Colin out of this..I just wanted to get me and you sorted out before throwing him into the mix too..you know?"
"I understand...and I think he does too. He told me about him telling you about Trevor.."
"He did?"
"Yeah..and I think it was very...mature of you to say what you did."
AJ sighed,"Trevor is always going to be his father Madalyn...no one can take that away from either of them.."
"I have no intention on ever going back to him.."
"I know you don't."
"Colin doesn't want to see him...but I know Trevor wants to...I hate putting Colin in the middle but...it seems as if he always is.."
"What about you? Aren't you in the middle?"
"Middle of who?"
"Well...I don't know..of me and Trevor."
She smiled a little sadly, "I don't think Trevor wants me.."
"Well what if I said I did want you?"
"I'd have to say you're crazy."
He smiled, "Well..yeah...but why do you say that?"
She looked him straight in the eye, "I have no idea.."
"Then, we're both crazy."
"That is so the truth."
