Justin's goal for that day was to really see Alexa for who she was. He was sure there was an outgoing, smart-ass in her somewhere...he just had to get her to come out of the shell she had put herself in to.
She drove to a local mall and found a parking spot close to the door. "Are you sure you wanna do this?," She asked.
He nodded before giving her a 'look', "Of course I do. I haven't been able to shop in forever."
"Should you have gotten security to come with us?"
"No way...havin' a big guy follow me like a foot away means drawing more attention to us...plus, isn't school still in session?"
She nodded, "Yeah..."
"Which means, not as school people, i.e. our fans, will be here..don't start treating me like I'm such a superstar Lexi..not now."
She sighed and practically had to jog to keep up with him, "Justin....I didn't mean to like insult you or anything. I was just looking out for..I guess, your safety..."
He sighed as well and stuffed his hands in his pockets, "I'm sorry..I shouldn't of snapped like I did. I just...I just don't like people telling me what to do all the time.."
"I wasn't trying to tell you what to do.."
"I know..you didn't mean it like that."
They were now in the mall and both stopped. Alexa smiled, "Let's just shop and forget about our lovely little argument.."
Justin finally grinned, "Alright, alright..where to first?"
She shrugged, "I don't know..you lead the way."
They spent the better part of the day in the mall, going from store to store. Justin came out with more bags than Alexa, although he tried to buy her a couple of outfits more than enough times, much to her dismay.
She drove back to his house to drop him off at home. Once there, he leaned over and gave her a hug, "Thanks for today Lexi."
"Not a problem.."
"Can I call you?"
"Sure...got my number?"
"Somewhere, lyin' around."
She smiled, "Okay.."
"I guess I'll see you later then.."
"Ok...thanks for last night too...I really just needed someone to listen to me..for a while."
Justin grinned, "I know, so did I. See ya."
"Bye Justin."
Alexa drove to her apartment and went upstairs with the few purchases she did make and went inside. The phone was ringing so she dropped her things and ran to pick it up, "Hello?"
"Hey, where have you been at all day?"
"Hey Claire, I was out with Justin for most of the day."
"Ohh..really?"
"Not like that Claire..we're just friends."
"Okay, okay..so, did you have fun?"
Alexa flopped down on the couch with her stuff and began to go through it, taking off tags and such, "Surprisingly? Yeah. I had alot of fun."
"Good..so, what are you up to tonight?"
"Nothin'...hey, wanna come over and spend the night here and in the mornin' we head to the beach?"
Claire laughed, "I was just gonna ask if you wanted to come over here and do the same thing!"
Alexa laughed as well, "You know, they say great minds think alike.."
"That they do..so, you don't care?"
"Nope, I'll order the take-out."
"And I'll get the movies."
"Cool..see ya in a few."
"Yep, I'll be there soon Alexa."
"Bye Claire."
"Later."
Alexa hung up and went to get put her stuff in her room.
Within the hour, Claire was at Alexa's apartment complete with her things and movies she had picked up at the Blockbuster near her dorm. The chinese take-out had just arrived and Alexa was standing in the kitchen placing things around on the counter. Claire put her stuff down and put the movies down on the coffee table.
They gathered the food they wanted and sat down on the floor to eat and catch up on the way their lives had changed so drastically. Alexa leaned back against the couch, "So..you and Lance, huh?"
"He's nice!"
"I never said he wasn't! He's very nice...you two are cute together.."
"The only problem is..ya know, who he is...like his persona."
Alexa nodded, "I know...I understand.."
"So you and Mr. Hips from now to Eternity are just friends?"
Alexa nodded, "Yep...Claire, that's ALL we can be right now. He's been burned about as much as I have."
"Oh, he has?"
She nodded, "Yeah..pretty much."
"Maybe..something will happen later?"
Alexa laughed, "You just want to hook me up with someone."
"Exactly."
"Claire!"
