Alexa was sitting in front of her computer, trying to spit out her final English paper for the Spring Semester. She groaned, rubbing a hand over her tired face and looked at the clock, it read 2 a.m. She connected to the Internet but didn't expect anyone to be on. She then opened up her Word program and began to try to start her paper.
JRT565: Lexi?
Lexi-bug: Yo J-man
JRT565: What the hell are you doing on at this time of night? Or..whatever time it is there
Lexi-bug: lol, I'm trying to write an english paper for my final... it's almost 2 here..where are you?
JRT565: On the bus going to....somewhere..lol :) I don't know where we're going right now...
Lexi-bug: Ohhhh...sounds exciting. How's it going?
JRT565: Ok..tiring..but ok...want me to tell dan u said hi?
Lexi-bug: Yeah..if ya would..and tell him I miss him..
JRT565: will do. you ok?
Lexi-bug: Yeah..just tired and ready for school to be out!
JRT565: You and Claire heading out to LA after finals?
Lexi-bug: You know it...we got our tix today
JRT565: Cool...hey, can i call u?
Lexi-bug: Now?
JRT565: Yeah..i miss ur voice girlie
Lexi-bug: Yeah, sure...
JRT565: cool...call ya in a few...
Lexi-bug: ok..hurry up..:)
Justin logged off and a minute or two later Alexa's phone began to ring. She picked it up, "Hello?"
She heard him sigh and smiled a little. "Hey girl..you sound tired."
"I am Justin..I've been up practically all night..."
"When's this thing due?"
"Ummmm....at 10 this morning.."
"Damn..Lexi..."
"I know, I know..I procrastinated...but just think, after this, I am free!"
He laughed, "Good...I can't wait to see you...and Claire...can't forget about her.."
"Yeah..she's counting the hours."
"I figured as much. You doin' okay with out your bodyguards around?"
"I must admit, it's awfully quiet.," Alexa said with a smile as she curled into the chair and reached out to begin typing.
"Yeah, I bet....anything from Will?"
"Nope."
"Good..I think he knows better than to mess with you."
"I think so too.."
Justin smiled as he heard her typing in the background, "When do you and Claire fly to LA?"
"Friday."
"Two more days."
"Yes Justin, I'm glad you can count."
"Hey now, don't pick on me."
She smiled, "I'm not...so..how are you holding up?"
"Ok..I think.."
"You think?"
"I don't know...I guess being away from home has given me alot of time to think..plus, she left a voicemail the other day.."
"Did you call her back?"
"Hell no..."
"Good.."
"I don't want her anymore."
"Okay...least you admit it now."
"True. I miss you Lexi..I miss not talking to you face to face all the time...I mean, whenever we both were having problems with Will and Emma we had each other to go too...now, we run the risk of running our phone bills out the roof if we have a problem..."
Alexa sighed, "I know J...but just think, in two days, we'll be able to talk face to face for more than a month. After that, you'll be so sick of me you won't wanna talk to me ever again."
"Don't think so..."
"Yeah well....whatever..."
"Are you typing?"
"Yep..."
"Finished?"
"Almost..then I'm going to bed till like 9:30.."
"Can I call you about 11?"
"Sure you won't be too busy?"
"I'll make time for you girl."
"Ok..sure, then call me about 11..I should be home."
"Cool..talk to you then Lexi."
"Night Justin."
"Night."
Alexa hung up the phone and turned her attention back to her computer, she was amazed that she WAS almost done with her paper, finally, and could go to sleep in a matter of minutes.
Alexa was walking back to her car later that morning, she was done with all her finals, now all she had to do was pack and get on a plane with Claire to meet up with N'Sync (oh yeah, and Dan too) on Friday in LA....one more looong day.
Her phone rang and she glanced at her watch, he sure was punctual. "Hey Justin."
"Hey, how'd you know it was me?"
"You said you were gonna call at 11, it's 11."
"Oohh yeah...you tired?"
"A little, not as bad as I thought I would be.," She replied as she started her car and backed out of the parking spot.
"Good...you all done?"
"Yep..I'm good to go."
"Awesome..I can't wait to see you Lexi."
"I know, I'm soooo perfect, everyone wants to be around me."
Justin laughed and it actually brought goosebumps onto Alexa's arms, she chalked it up to the AC being on too high and reached with her other hand to turn it down. "So..how are you doing?"
He yawned just for effect before answering, "Tired, but I always am anymore."
"You're not getting sick are you?"
"Nope..touring is always like this...I think I'll catch a nap before dinner tonight."
"Is there a show tonight?"
"Yep."
"Ohhhh..."
"I can't wait for you to see the show Lexi..it's absolutely wild."
"So I've heard..."
"You all got your tickets right?"
"Yeah..they came this morning before I left, I didn't know me and Claire were getting front row center."
"Yep..only the best."
"Apparently."
"Ok, I'm gonna let you go and I'm gonna go take a nap...can...can I call you after the show?"
"Sure can, I should be home."
"Cool..talk to ya then..Bye Lexi."
"Bye Justin."
She hung up and tossed the cell phone into the passenger seat before reaching forward and turning the radio up loud.
Alexa was at home when her phone began to ring about 5 that afternoon. "Hello?"
"Hey."
"Hi Dan!"
Dan's deep-throated laugh came over the line, "Hey yourself...I figured I'd better check up on ya since I hadn't for awhile."
"I know! I was wondering when you were going to pull the big bro act or just wait till I got out there with you.."
"I figured i'd better do it now. How ya doin'?"
"Ok, you?"
"Pretty good.."
"That's cool..havin' fun?"
"A blast, glad school's out?"
"You have NO idea Dan! I can't wait until tomorrow when me and Claire are on that plane heading to LA..."
"I can't wait to see you two. I feel bad...because ya know, I've always been there to protect ya from Will..and well, now I'm not...so I worry."
Alexa sighed as she flopped back onto the couch, flipping through the channels on her tv aimlessly, "I know you do Dan...but believe me, Will is out of the picture....I think you can stop protecting me for now."
"So what's up with you and Justin?"
"Me and Justin? There is no me and Justin..."
"Well, when he got off the phone with you earlier, he had this real goofy, happy look on his face..."
"I don't know why...."
"Maybe he likes ya."
"Shut up Dan!"
Dan laughed again, "I'm just pickin' on you....you talked to mom or dad lately?"
"No."
"Oh..me neither. You did tell them that after school let out that you were coming out with me right?"
"Did last week."
"Oh okay..just making sure. You better call mom tonight."
"I will later.."
"Ok..I gotta run, see you tomorrow Alexa."
"Ok..bye Dan."
