Friday arrived and Alexa and Claire were at the Orlando airport early that morning to catch their flight to L.A. to meet up with N'Sync (oh yeah, and Dan).
Claire groaned and laid her head on the chair beside her, "If I wasn't getting to see Lance, I'd be SO grumpy right now."
Alexa stood in front of her and rolled her eyes, "You keep saying that.."
"I know! But I'm tired Alexa!"
"I know Claire..me too.."
"Yeah, but you're just happy that you get to see your man JuJu.," Claire said with a sly grin.
"He's NOT my man."
"You wish he was."
"And how do you know that?"
Claire looked at her straight in the eye, "I know you like him Alexa, and don't say he's just a friend, I know you want more than that."
"But he doesn't."
"HA! You admit it!"
"Shut up Claire! Geez, you are SO loud!"
Their flight was called and they boarded the plane and sat down before Claire continued their conversation. "You don't know that he DOESN'T like you."
"I doubt he does, he's all but swore off women Claire..."
"Yeah well his ex was a bitch, plain and simple."
"Claire!"
She laughed, "It's true! I think you're scared."
Alexa tightened her seatbelt, "You're right, I'm scared out of my damn mind. I've been hurt once...and I don't want to go through that again. Hell, I don't want to put my family through that again. We've both been burned, and yeah, I like him...but..it's scary that I'm actually feeling like this..again."
"Honey, it's normal. Justin's a good guy, he won't hurt you like that asshole Will did."
"I know, I know..."
"I think you two need to talk.."
"I think we do too.."
"Let's just leave the subject alone for now, and later, we can talk about it, ok?," Claire said knowing Alexa really didn't want to talk about it at that point.
Alexa agreed, "I think that's wise Claire...I think I need to get my own mind okay first.."
"I understand..so, what movie do you think they're playing?"
"Have no idea..ask one of the attendants."
Justin was sitting in the limo, his leg bobbing up and down, his eyes darting to the window every once and a while. Lonnie, his bodyguard, poked his head in the door, "Their flight just landed."
"Can I go?"
Lonnie nodded, "Yeah..Dan's gonna go with you, I'll wait here...you better hurry boy."
Justin grinned, pulling a ball cap down over his head, "I will, I will. I dressed as much NOT like me as I could."
Dan appeared and looked at Justin a little weird, "Did you borrow JC's clothes again?"
Justin smiled and nodded, "Yeah, how could ya tell?"
"They're a little tight on you buddy, come on."
"Bet Claire gets mad that Lance couldn't come."
"Probably."
"Dude, I hope no one recognizes me.," Justin said dropping his voice a little as they walked through the airport, brushing past people left and right.
Dan looked around, "Well, I don't think they will, remember, we're here a day ahead of schedule, you all are supposed to be here tomorrow."
"I know, but still.."
"I know, here's the gate."
"Cool..I'm really glad they get to come with us."
Dan smiled, "Me too.."
"How's Alexa doing anyways?"
"She's alright, you should know better than me; you two talk to one another than you two do to me."
"Whatever."
Dan sighed, putting an arm around Justin's shoulders, "Word of advice Curly-no-more, my sister's been through alot, and I know what you're thinking about her, not that it's a bad thing. I'm not going to pull you two apart and I'm not going to pull a big brother role and follow you two around 24/7. But, I think you two are good for one another, but just remember? I'm bigger than you and can kick your ass if need be."
Justin pulled away, "Dude..."
"I'm just sayin'."
"She could kick my ass if she barely tried anyways Dan. I wouldn't hurt her."
"I know, I'm just saying though.."
"I understand...wait....how'd you know?"
Dan smiled and looked towards the terminal where people were filing out, "It's so obvious, man."
"Oh."
"Don't worry, I won't tell a soul."
"Promise?"
"Promise."
The two girls appeared and spotted Dan nearly immediately. They exchanged a look before squealing and nearly jumping Dan.
Alexa was the first to let go of Dan and then noticed Justin, "That you J-man?"
He grinned, "Yeah girl, com'mere and give me a hug."
She laughed and hugged him, "It's good to see you."
"You too..I got a surprise for ya."
"What?"
"Can't tell ya yet. Hey Claire."
"Hi Justin."
Justin leaned down and hugged Claire and then pulled away. "Lonnie's getting your things and will meet us at the car, we better go.," Dan said.
Alexa and Claire got settled in their hotel room and then Claire bolted to go find Lance, finally. Justin knocked on the door and Alexa let him in, he was still wearing his baseball hat. "I haven't showed you my surprise, have I?"
"Ummm..nope.," She said sitting on her bed.
Justin grinned and pulled the hat off, revealing his newly shaved head. Her jaw dropped, "Oh my Lord!"
"Like it?"
She stood up and walked around him, examining every part of his head, "Ummm..it's different."
"I think it looks good."
She ran a hand over it and laughed when he flinched, "Sorry...it does Justin, it actually does, surprisingly. Why'd you cut off all your hair though?"
He shrugged, "It was too high maintenance."
"Ohhh..what'd your mom say?"
"She was a little shocked, but she says she likes it now."
"That's good..I like it..but..I just wasn't expecting THAT..ya know?"
"I know, I know...but that isn't really your surprise, I did get ya something."
"Justin..you didn't have to-"
Justin shushed her, "Shhh, Yes I did. I wanted to."
"Ohhh...but-"
"Shh..just let me do this."
"Do what?"
He grinned, "If you would let me talk, I'd tell ya Lexi."
"Ok..ok..sorry."
"I would like you to accompany me to dinner tonight..just me and you, no security, nobody but us. I wanna show you L.A."
"Really?"
"really."
"No security?"
"Well..we'll probably have to take somebody.."
"Besides Dan."
"Besides Dan. But..I think it'd be fun."
"Okay."
"Cool...I'll meet you in the lobby at 8..ok?"
"Sounds good.."
Justin was smiling as he left her room and went into his own.
