Chapter 1- Let Yourself Go

Madison brushed her hair back off her sweaty neck as she pulled up more weeds. She sighed and sat back on her knees, least her garden was looking a little better. She heard the doorbell ring, stood up and went to go answer it. 'And I just look soo lovely.,' She thought as she walked to the door while dusting herself off.

Her jaw dropped once she opened the door, "What are you doing here?"

He smiled and stepped inside, "Well, no one's heard from you so I figured I'd come over..gardening?"

She looked at herself and blushed, "Well...umm..yeah."

"Its a nice look."

She sighed, "I know you didn't come here to talk, what's up Brian? Why are you here and not in Kentucky like MTV said."

He shrugged, "Florida is so much warmer than Lexington.."

"Brian.."

"Well, it is. But anyways, we need to talk."

She nodded, "Go to the living room while I run and change, I'll be right back."

He nodded, "Okay.."

She ran up the stairs as he started towards the living room.

Brian glanced around, the room used to be full of pictures; of Madison and her family, Madison and the guys, but mostly of Madison and...Kevin. He noticed a couple picture frames turned around on the mantle and he walked over to them and turned them around. All the pictures that were turned backwards were of her and Kevin. "I can't stand to look at how happy we were.," She said flatly from behind him.

Brian spun around, "I uhh...didn't mean to..look around."

"Its okay..you're always welcome here."

He nodded, "So..I guess you're wondering..exactly why I came."

"That thought came to mind."

"Kevin's walking like he'd never been hurt."

"That's good.."

"Yeah..he uhh..he is coming back to Orlando soon.."

"Oh? Thats good..."

"He's back to normal..as normal as possible."

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"He's the same person as before..just not as happy..like he was with you."

"He's the one that said he didn't need me or anybody.."

Brian sighed, "I know he said that Madi..I know he did, but he didn't mean it. He wasn't in the right state of mind...you read all my letters! He was scared you wouldn't stay with him if he was in a wheelchair!"

Madison threw up her hands in frustration, she had gone over this inside her head over and over! "I know that Brian! But it still hurt! I sat there day after day listening to him gripe about how I was such a bad girlfriend, how I was only with him because of the money, and he knows that isn't true in the least! I've argued with myself about this over and over Brian and...I don't think there was anything I could have done to keep him near me. And I don't know if there's anything still there between us."

"You know what I found last week?? I found him looking through a bunch of pictures, a bunch of pictures of you and him. He actually looked happy until he got through the pictures. Then, he became sad and depressed again. Madison, we're getting ready to go record again, he has to get through this. We've seen him when he's all whiny and depressed and its not good, he's an absolute asshole when he's like that."

Madison crossed her arms in front of her, "So you want me to get back with him, give him another chance, just because you all have to go back into the studio! Ummm...Brian, I'm not stupid!!"

"Thats not what I meant!! Madison, please, see him at least. He knows he hurt him and he's sorry!"

"I can't Brian!"

"You're holding something back from me. Why can't you just let yourself go??"
