This is what makes Tau Beta Sigma different from Kappa Kappa Psi. As members of TBS, we need to embrace this difference, and emphasize this part of our mission statement.

I have found several organizations on the web that exist to promote Women in Music too. This page will be a link to them.


The first organization I found was the International Alliance for Women in Music. Check out their mission statement and you'll see why I think it is so cool!

IAWM Mission Statement

"The International Alliance for Women in Music is devoted to fulfilling the purposes of the three organizations it unites. Created on January 1, 1995 through the uniting of the International Congress on Women in Music, the American Women Composers and the International League of Women Composers, the International Alliance for Women in Music celebrates the contributions of all women musicians, past, present and future.

A coalition of professional composers, conductors, performers, musicologists, educators, librarians and lovers of music, men as well as women, the IAWM encourages the activities of women in music:

Their web page is awesome, and it is a great resource for information about women in music.


Another cool page I found was the Women in Music National Network.

Women In Music Purpose:

The National Network for Women in Music is a non-profit membership organization designed to promote the recognition of women in music through education and networking resources. Our goal is to help encourage and support the activities of women in all areas of music.
