May 29 (Raw) - Jericho teamed up with the Hardy's to take on Val Venis and T & A. Jericho and the Hardy's lost the match because of interference from Trish Stratus. Later that night, Hardcore Holly had a match against Chris Benoit for the IC title. Holly had many chances to win, but it was all spoiled as Jericho nailed Holly over the head with a chair.

May 25 (SmackDown) - For the number one contendor position, Jericho, Val Venis and Harcore Holly had a triple threat match. Jericho gave Val an asai moonsault, but recieved a leg drop from Holly. Holly was then able to pin Val for the win.

May 22 (Raw) - Val Venis had a match against Chris Benoit for the IC title. Hardcore Holly got Val disqualified. Then Jericho came out and snuck up behind Holly and nailed him over the head with a chair.

May 21 ( Judgment Day) - Jericho had a chance to regain his IC title in the submission match against Chris Benoit. Jericho had the big advantage on Benoit, since Hardcore Holly injured Benoit's knee. Jericho went after that knee in the match. However, Benoit was still able to fight back and get Jericho in the crippler crossface. Jericho almost made it to the ropes but Benoit pulled him back to the middle. Jericho wouldn't tap out though, but he finally lost consciousness. Benoit retained the IC title.

May 18 (SmackDown) - Stephanie McMahon set a match for Jericho and his choice of a partner to take on Hardcore Holly and Chris Benoit. Val Venis was in an arguement with Benoit and Holly about who should get a title shot after Judgement Day. Jericho then chose Val to be his partner. Jericho had Benoit in the Walls of Jericho when Holly hit him with a chair. Him and Benoit were disqualified. Later Holly attacked Benoit injuring his knee. Alright!

May 15 (Raw) - Jericho had a match against Hardcore Holly for the Hardcore title. Jericho was looking good in the match when Benoit came out and pearl harbored Jericho. Holly then nailed Jericho with a chair for the win.

May 11 (SmackDown) - Edge and Christian teamed up with Kurt Angle to take on Jericho and the Hardy Boys. Benoit came down and knocked down Jericho. Jericho went after him. Meanwhile, the Hardy's lost the match after Christian nailed Matt Hardy across the head with the bell. After the match, Angle and Benoit double teamed against Jericho.

May 8 (Raw) - Jericho ran in the ring and started insulting all of the McMahon's. Vince then told Jericho he had to defend the IC title against Kurt Angle. Jericho ended up winning with the Walls of Jericho. Later that night Shane talked the Big Show into fighting Jericho. Just as the Big Show was going to give Jericho the chokeslam, a video of Shane saying how he has the Big Show "wrapped around his finger" came up on the titontron. The Big Show was counted out as he went after Shane. Later, Vince said Jericho would be taking on Chris Benoit. Triple H then named himself the referee. Jericho had Benoit in the Walls of Jericho but Triple H pretended he didn't notice. Jericho then assualted Triple H who then shoved Jericho right into the crippler crossface. Jericho didn't even tap out, but Triple H awarded the title and the match to Benoit.

May 4 (SmackDown) - Jericho got a rematch against Chris Benoit from Backlash. Benoit pushed referee Earl Hebner, who then pushed Benoit back. Jericho came out of nowhere to nail Benoit over the head with the belt. Jericho then hit the asai moonsault to become the new IC champion.

May 1 (Raw) - Jericho had a match against X-Pac. The match never got started, Jericho won by disqualification because X-Pac was pushing Earl Hebner around. Jericho wasn't satisfied, so he still slapped X-Pac into the Walls of Jericho.
