The Hesperides were nymphs who live in a beautiful garden which was located at the edge of the world (western Mediterranean). They protected Hera's tree with the golden apples which Gaia had given her as a wedding present to Zeus. The Hesperides are Aegle, Arethusa, Erytheia and Hesperia. They are also called The African Sisters.
