A long time ago
there lived a man
He was eating a sandwich
It was mustard and ham
He knew about life
and he knew about love
before he'd talk
all he'd do is shove
his food in his mouth
but he was wise anyway
he brought joy to my heart
each and everyday

when he said

i had had problems with my wife
we had a fight (a fight)
and i hated my life

the sandwich eater came to town
he told me something (something)
that turned it all around

he said

wisdom sandwich-eater knows the master plan
he tells me what do do
and i don't understand
wisdom sandwich-eater knows the way
and he teaches it to people
each and every day

but then one day
the sandwich-eater had to go
i said "no" (said "no")
"say it isn't so"
but i had to say goodbye
and so he said "--------"
he looked me
and took one last bite

and said
