They had one child Nora born in Ireland in 1888 who migrated with them. Upon arrival in America they set up house in Mahanoy City, Pa. where John acquired employment in the Coal Mines. The remainder of their seven children were born in Mahanoy City.
Nora married John McClafferty and they had ten children;
, Nora who married Andy Daley,

Margaret who married Mike Lagowy,
Catherine who married Robert McLoughlin,

The remaining four children were Grace, James, Francis and Patricia.

The second Sheehan child, John Sheehan Jr , was born June 1891, married Elizabeth Fogarty.

Their third son Richard was killed during the first World War fighting in France.

William Sheehan The Fourth child married Frances Pauli and had five children, Margaret, William, John, Raymond, and Joan.

The next child was Thomas Sheehan who married Beatrice Walchonis and had four children Raymond, Richard, Florence and Dolores.

My grandmother Margaret Sheehan was next to last and married Ren Carlin and had seven children, Grace, William, Rosemary, Richard Francis "Gene", Margaret, Florence and Alphonsus.

The last Sheehan son was Peter who was unmarried and lived at home with his mother. Although I never met my great grandfather John Sheehan, I do remember Grandmother Sheehan and Peter who I visited as a young boy. When I hear the song "Mother Machree", Grandmom Sheehan comes to mind. I will never forget her!
