Apparently at my wonderful institute of high education, we have a month now dedicated to gay people. I understand that they have a right to be proud of their sexuality just like me as a straight person have a right to be proud of mine. I am not going to say that I don't respect gay people, hell I've got gay friends guys and girls. All I am saying is why in God's name do we need a whole month dedicated to them? It is completely ridiculous. They already have their Gay Pride parade. I understand that they are trying support each other in coming out and they want the "heterosexual" community to accept them, but by forcing me to read about their "events" in my school newspaper I find it disturbing and disgusting and I am more apt to resent them for taking up valuable printing space that could be dedicated to something more useful, like I don't know talking about beer!! I AM TOTALLY JUST KIDDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No but more like current events and having smart people actually write articles rather than ill informed ignoramouses that just think oh I'll write for the school newspaper and they'll print it b/c otherwise they have nothing to print. I am sorry that the gay community feels that they need to have a NATIONAL COMING OUT DAY--which btw for those of you who don't know my university celebrates on October 11!!! Thank God that has already passed. I am not going to sit here and quote the Bible and say that God will condemn gays because they are gay but I will sit here and say that I don't think that I should have to see the gay pride notices posted everywhere on campus. I am happy that you are proud of your sexuality, but frankly if you don't want people to ridicule and "hate" you then don't paint a fucking target on yourself. Jesus I don't understand that. It's like I don't paint a target on myself saying that I am "one thing or the other" I just think that if ya'll want to be proud fine, but let's not forget that because you have the freedom of speech so do I! I think it is utterly ridiculous and stupid that you will sit there, and as one "eloquent" writer for my newspaper is quoted as having said "...that heterosexual people are more scared of not passing on their heritage and their surname", then you are an IDIOT!!!! I don't sit here and say that you are gay just because you want something to bitch and complain about. For Christ sakes, there are plenty of straight people out there that don't want children but they are happily married or happily in long term relationships and they don't give a flying fucking shit if they pass along their names or heritage. Now I am not saying that gay couples shouldn't have the same rights as us regarding insurance and marriage and being able to adopt children because there is absolutely no proof that a child raised in a gay home will be any more fucked up than a child raised in a straight home (especially nowadays). But shit ya'll can't you guys just give it a rest. Oh and btw the "hate" crimes ya'll so frequently site as being travesties against ya'll, the sensational ones are sensational because the fucking damn news won't shut up about it, yes they are horrible but don't you think that I am harrassed for being a smart independent woman? Or that plenty of other people get harrassed for one reason or another. Quit fucking drawing attention to yourselves.
