Well, you would think with all the activities I do there is no room for watching TV, right? Well actually thats not so. I love TV. The problem is, there is barely anything good on TV anymore. I have a large collection of old TV shows that I watch. Like my "movie" list, I like Sci fi, fantasy, westerns, documentary series, cartoons and a small variety of other shows. Below is a list of some of my favorites. Oh and check to see if the pictures are clickable. They may take you to a whole page about the show with more pictures. Being that I like cartoons more than regular TV, I have not included them here but gave them their own section. The list is in no real particular order, just as I think of them. You may find it interesting that "Flipper" is NOT on my list. LOL!

What is it about shows like "Roar" and Covington Cross? They never seem to connect with the audience and quickly get booted off the air. Roar was a great show and deserved alot more praise then it recieved. Roar was about a band of kelts trying to save the British isles from the invading armies of Rome and Egypt.

Within the stories, exsisted the air of magick and mysticism. This is probably one reason that the show did not last. The leader of this rebel band was Conor. Young and wild, he was like a pre-Robin Hood. His companions consisted of Fergus, A large keltic warrior of barbarian nature yet a gentle soul, Tully, a african slave they released and became a warrior of their band, Catlin, a mischievious, Irish lass that was more trouble than she was worth, yet dedicated to the group. The show, directed by Shaun Cassidy, tried to hold its own. It was nothing like the shows Xena and Hercules, which it had to compete against. There was no true monsters or divine interference nor spectacular and flashy fight sequences. Probably another reason it never lasted. And what exactly was "Roar"? Roar was the power of the earth and all it's gifts. And if one wakens ones sences enough, one could hear the "roar" as was revealed in the first and last episode. This show I recommend to pagans and wiccans to watch.

Sinbad was the second spin-off from the Hercules series. The effects were the same and so was the acting, yet, I found more enjoyment from Sinbad than Xena and Hercules. Unlike the former shows, Sinbad lasted but 2 seasons before taken off the air. What a crime too. The one flair that Sinbad had, for me, is that it did not try to be what it wasn't. Where the Hercules show did alot of time jumping and did not even look greek (more Conan), Sinbad stayed in it correct time line and the sets and costumes fit the theme. The cast consisted of young Sinbad and long lost brother Dubar who were looking for a fabulous mage named Dim-Dim. Among Sinbad's crew was Maeve, a Keltic female mage (and quite lovily to behold, Ronar, a mute Nubian warrior and a bard/historian of sorts
and the real star of the show, in my eyes, Dermont, Maeve's falcon familiar. I think the stories had more originality than it predicestors ever had. One rumor to the shows cancelation was the real-life trouble that was building up in the middle east. A more interesting note to the show is about Zen Gesner who played the role of Sinbad. Zen was known to perform alot of stunts himself, being born and raised by a circus performing family. The only thing that lost me was Sinbad's sudden conversion. In the first season he was a young troublesome boy in plain clothes. But in the second season, they made him a full fledge warrior and put him in clothes that Sigfried and Roy would wear. **Click on the pick for more pics from the show**

Now you might consider it a bit childish but I enjoyed "Animorphs". Unfortunatly, I never got to watch much of it. This show evolved around 6 teenagers with the ability to shapeshift into different animals. Who needs pets, hu? The cast did switch a couple times yet it was still enjoyable. So you think these kids have it easy? Not when you got the government and aliens after you. The series even became a books series then died off from popularity.
I think the real reason that this show, though popular, did not last as long as it should have is for two reasons: Limited plots. The show was good but after a while the stories were all the same. The other reason was christian/evangelistic hate groups trying to ban he show and books. Can't they keep their noses out of anything? This show is on my "recommended Pagan tv/movies list."

I love Britsh TV comedy and this show was one of the first I saw. Are You Being Served is about a department store called "Grace Brothers" and the members who work there: Young Mr. Grace, the elderly owner, Mr. Rumbold, who coordinates the cast amd is a bit of a twit, Mr. Peacock who keeps all in order with his proper Britsh way, Mr. Lucas, the young sales man who is a wise guy, Mr. Humphreys, who is ....well...different, Ms. Braums, the young and sexy sales girl and Ms. Slocum who's hair changes color each show. The show is full of fun and laughs, and enjoyed all around the world.
The show was a big success and ran from 1973 to 1985. Cast members came and went, yet the show still remained successful. years later, some of the cast was brought back together for a second series, "Are You Still Being Served?", though not as rich, still funny. About 5 years ago, John Ingham, and Molly Sugden came to America and I had a chance to meet them at a convention. They are just as hilarious off camera, as on camera. **Click on pic for more**

Another show from Britain, that I love is "Mr. Bean". Here is a man, that gets into trouble with out trying. Played by Rowan Ackenson, Mr. Beans origin to me is a mystery. At the start of each show you see a dark street. Suddenly there is a light from the sky and then he is on the ground. He then gets up and walks away. Is he an alien, fallen angel or what? If anyone does know, DON'T tell me. Some things are best left unexplained.
The show is a bit of a mime act, for Bean never really talks in the show. From doing laundrey to X-mas shopping, he just can't stay out of trouble, even going to church. In 1998 Mr. bean took America by storm and the producers took poor Bean and made a movie. Unfortunatly the movie failed. Only because everything seen in the movie was already seen on the show. Also Mr. Bean talked too much in the movie. Trust me, watch the show, it is much better. At one point in the show Bean even had a girl friend. The two seemed like a perfect match, till the incident at the movies. It seems that Mr. Bean will have only one true love, his teddy bear.

In 1992, American TV was going superhero crazy and one of their experiments was "The Flash", popular hero of the DC universe. The plot evolved around Barry Allen, who gains the super-powers to run as fast as anything. Interesting note for all those fans of The Flash, in the pilot episode there is an appearance by DC comics first Flash. I personally loved the show and it had alot of potential.
Unfortunatly the show never even made it past its first season. The reason, I feel, was that the world was focused of two other famous characters at the time, Spiderman, who got married and Supermen, who was killed and ressurrected. Had the flash come at another time, it would have survived as a series. The only thing that annoyed me with this show, was the suit that John Wesley Ship had to wear. It was far too muscular and bulky and made the Flash looked like he was a steriods. None the less, the show still was great for the short life it had on the tube.

Ah yes, there is nothing more wonderful to see than a boy and he dog...er...wolf? Lucan was a bit before my time, yet I still enjoy watch the repeats when they are on. Prior to the show, all of American was going Tarzan and Bigfoot crazy. This was the end result. The story about a youth who, not ownly defends the wolves, but lives and comunicates with them. And that could be big trouble when the world about him is being threatened by mankind. It seems that Lucan was raised by the wolves. Sounds familiar? Now brought out of the wild, he must try to adjust. Or is it the rest of humanity that must adjust.
The show did of-course have a more political statement to it, "We are all brothers and sister of the earth", yet to this day noone will hear the words. the show lasted 1 season before being yanked of TV, probably because of the statement trying to be made, and it is too bad because the show was fantastic. No super powers or special effects just a good show and good written stories. This show is hard to find, unless it is repeated on TV at odd hours but I recommend it to all pagan parents and children.

The Quest was a western that made it to TV in 1972. The story was about the Bodine brothers. One, a doctor form the big city and the other who grew up with the natve americans of the west. They are on a quest, to rescue their sister who was captured by another native american tribe. Along the way they learn things about and from each other.
The two key stars were Tim Matheson and Kurt Russel, both whom are still big stars today. Now your probably thinging this was like any other western on TV. Point-of-fact "The Quest" was not like other westerns of its time. Most adventures the two faced were not you run of the mill cowboy genre. The adventures had to do with dealing with the heart, self and natures forces. Stories like these were not common on TV at the time. The Quest was an all around good balanced show though I must admit, some more comedy could have kept the show running longer than it did.

OK I could do a whole site on this show. This is my #1 sci fi show. There is nothing about this show that has not been said on hundreds of other sites so let me just give you the run down and you can ejoy the pics. As the title narration says, We did not come from the earth, rather from the stars. In a galaxy with 12 colony planets. There, all was not at peace. For there was another race, Cylons, that humans were pitted against. The cylons decided to rid of the humans once and for all and attack the colonies. Few survived the holocaust. All human battleships were destoyed. Except one, The Galactica.
Those who survived the onslaught, joined the battlestar and go to search for a distant long lost 13th colony, thought to be a myth. A blue green planet called Earth. Among the warriors are Apollo, Starbuck, Greenbean, Athena, Jolly and Boomer. Athena and Apollo's father is the Commander Adama. Among the civilians are Boxy (Apollo's adopted son), Cassiopiea, Sirus Uri and a host of other funny and serious characters. The show lasted for 3 seasons and conquered the world. In 1985 the show was brought back on the air, "Galactica 1985" the show failed to capture the heart of the fans, for the galactica found earth at last. the fans (and myself) like the idea of the quest more than the idea of achieving their goal and finding Earth.**Click on pic for more**

I am not one for sitcoms, cause most of them are stupid, but "Mad About You" is a great and funny show. Just a typical, rather newly wed couple living in New York and dealing with every day life with a smile. Helen Hunt is no stranger to anyone and neither is Paul Reiser. The two work well together. Between Helen's charming innoscents and Paul's one liners, this show works for me. Then there is Ira, Paul's cousin on the show who loves to just get the couple into all sorts of stuff.
There are 2 special episodes that I love: The thanksgiving episode, Jamie(Helen)is tryinmg to cook the perfect turkey but it falls out the apartment window, thus sending Paul out to buy another over and over again. The other is the one when the two find love letters of a previous couple and go to find them. Only to find the couple were just like themselves, 50 years ago. The episode is endearing and sweet.

What if you found a secret society hidden from the sight of everyday folk. Where peace, joy and laughter were common and everyone loved every one. That is what Katherine found in the TV show "Beauty and the Beast". The show is loosly based around the famous novel. Vincent is a man who was deformed at birth and was taken in by such a society that lives in the deep sewer tunnels under New York. There Katherine learns from Vincent more than ever she knew about life and fall in love.
The show is beautifuly done with a wonderful cast and music. The one feature that stands out is the poetry that each show revolves around. The makeup done for Vincent is supperb, not a hidious grotesque face that some would take it for. This show is on my "TV/movies for pagans" list. There is more to the show than a girl and man. There is a whole society in the tunnels of men women and children that live and love. All are outcasts of the world up above. Though the show has its scarey moments, I would recommend the show to be watched by children as well.**Click on pic for more**

Here is a man of various personalities. Manimal , All about a man of wealth who has it all and more. Especially when he gains the power, not only to communicate with animals but turn into one. Doctor Dolittle eat your heart out. The only ones that know of his secret are a ever lovily Melody Anderson as a detective and his partner. And they would dare not tell anyone. Once Jonathan Chase gains his ability, he decides to use it for the better of mankind and go after the bad guys.
This show and its concept was excellent but too ahead of its time and I think the writers were a bit lost as to finding unique stories. Had it been made today the show would have done far much better than it did back in 1983. The aspects of shapeshifting was a tremendous idea for its time and still a great show for the adults. but some episodes may not be sutable for younger audiences.

Of all the Robin Hoods ever made, this is the one that made the most impact. Not only do you have Robin, Marion and the merry men, there are also celtic gods and mysticism. This show is popular among Pagans and Wiccans. The show has a more serious undertone and the back music supplied by Clannad (see my Music section) add to the air. The show is a masterpiece.
Robin of Sherwood was strictly an English production and filmed not for from the real Sherwood forest as history tells us Robin dwelt. This is not just some show about men running about in tights. The subjects are very real, such as the persecution of jews and witches of the time. At other times there is joy and good times had. One show is even all about the celebratiuon of The Summer Solstice, and when the group is threaten but can not spill blood on this day, the group goes through other means to rid the sherrif and his men. My favorite character is the old man in the dungeon and Authur.**Click on pic for more**

"The Chronicals of Narnia" is also on my TV/movies selection for pagans. Anyone who has read the books, will love this wonderful made-for-TV miniseries. All the aspects of the book were kept in it. from the light post to Aslan the lion.
The show lead to others in the Narnia saga including "The Silver Chair" But the show started to loose some of their flavor. For me "Narnia" was the best of the lot. Even the special effects and costumes were superb. Heck even father Christmas has a brief cameo. Look to the pic about and tell me that is not a marvelous aspect of Alsan with out using a real lion. The show was Engish/Candanian made and will stand up to the test of time.**Click on the pic for more**

"Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman" had the air of being just another TV western but instead was more like a modern version of Little house on the Prairie. The store rotates around a female doctor in the old west who has lost her husband and caring for 5 children. She is a strong believer in womans rights when there were none.
When things got too strong for her to handle, there was a man for her to call on, Sully, who was a great friend of the Blackfoot natives of the region. I strongly suggest this show to every pagan and wiccan out there for its morals, shamanism and respect of the land that the stories based around. There is even an episode about book burning. Towns folk were going to burn every book in the town for the ill morals they contained. That was stopped when Dr. Quinn suggests burning the bible for its ill morals as well. **Click on pic for more**

"You Wish" answers the age old question, "What if you had a genie....?" Here is a typical subburban mom and her two kids. When they find a lamp in an antigue store and clean it up, they inherit a genie, like it or not. He wants to do good but seems to get a bit confused in this high-tech age he has been brought into.
The show had its good points and bad points but the fans went with the bad points and the show never saw beyond its 6th episode. I think the show had too much compitition with its sister show "Sabrina" to survive. That and evanglists screaming about its "magic" content did not help. This would been a fun show to watch for the entire pagan family if you can find it. (Sorry about the pic but it is the ownly one I could find.)

Ok os I'm a big fan of "Friends". Its one of the few shows that gets me to laugh. 3 guys and 3 girls all friends with quirks and feelings. There is Chandler, the guy with 3 nipples and noone knows what his job is. Phoebe the psychic who is a bit of a scatter brain.
Monica who has to have every thing perfect and her brother, Ross the Palentologist. Rachel who to me is the paranoid one of the group and last but not least Joey the actor who is also a bit of an air head. The show just works for me and about 30 million people world wide who protested to keep the show going even though the producers wanted to take it off on 1999. The greatset episodes for me: the chick and duck, any episode with Marsell the monkey, Joey trying to sell the entertainment unit and when Joey left Chandler for his own apartment (a bit emotional for me). The Duchess of York, Fergi loved the show so much, that she even appeared in an episode.

Bigfoot and Wildboy was a Saturday morning kids show before my time but when I had my encounter (see my BIGFOOT pages) I ran into these videos. I must admitt they are very much enjoyable, more so than the cartoons of today on Saturday morning. Here is the plot: you have Bigfoot the legendary creature of the Northwest of north America. he finds an abandoned boy. The two grow up together and live happily.
That is till they are found and hunted by every body who owns a gun. The stories are crude by todays standard, but you have to remember they were made for kids of the 70's. The episodes have the same basis as "Lucan" when it come to issues as saving the earth and stuff. Why I find these episodes enjoyable is beyond me, I just do.

Alien Nation I feel was one of the best sci fi series containing political messages. Originally it started as a movie that took the world by storm. Thus the series was born. As the movie was more action and adventure, the series brought more general life to the viewers. What would life be like in the world if aliens came to our world to live in peace among the humans. Taking on our names and jobs and everyday trials and tribulations? Thus show answers that question.
The cast is composed of Matt Sykes, a police officer. His partner is the Tekton alien Cisco. the two together end up in tons of trouble every episode. But this is just not a police show. Far beyond, the shows also revolved around the Cisoc family. His wife and family must go thru daily life with the problems such as religeous and racial persicussion, adjusting to daily earth customes and even homework. **CLICK ON PIC FOR MORE**

Mr. Belvedere is one of the few american sitcoms that I actually enjoyed to watch. The show is based loosely on the movies from the 1940s. The plot is about a sports comintator and his family who take in a British butler to take care of his home and family.
There is George, who is the father. His hangups are Belvedere and his proper English ways. Marsha is his wife. Her hang ups is that she wants the perfect home and family. She also has a small problem when it comes to cooking. Kevin is the eldest son, The average kid who has his basic teenage problems. Heather the middle child who, like all girls, wants to grow up to fast. And then there is Wesley, the youngest son. He is the practical joker and the nemesis of poor Mr. Belvedere. Each show concludes with Belvedere writing in his journal the events of the day, thus the moral of the show. Some consider the show as lame, yet I personnally enjoy it.

"Alias Smith and Jones." the show about 2 of America's old west outlaws, kid Curry (left) and Hannible Heyes (right). Yet this is anything from a factual reality. the two have been on the run so long that they are tired of it. So how do you get out of a life of crime? Amnesty. But thats not easy. First they most prove to the governer that they deserve amnesty. Till then they will still be wanted criminals. "Thats a good deal?"
"Smith and Jones was not only a hit with the public, the two lead actors Ben Murphy(Curry) and Pete Duel(Heyes)became heartthobs of the nation for a while. The show was mainly comedy of the old west, yet it also had alot of strong action to. The problem was keeping the Curry and Heyes criminals without actually having commit any crimes. That was not too hard, the characters ended up in enough jams anyway. By the third season the show met up with tragedy as Pete Duel took his life. Actor was quickly replaced with the shows narrater as Heyues, but the the changes did not fool audiences and ended after its third season. **CLICK ON PIC FOR MORE**

Now you might be wondering why a Wiccan would be watching a show like "Sister Kate?" Well it was not for the religeous stuff, I assure you. The show was funny. Here is the plot: A sister who is at times rather over zeolous is sent to take care of some orphans. Now she has in mind that they are all babies. Well, they are anything but. Starting at the age of 10 up to 16. These kids have some big problems And it is up to Sister Kate to help them. providing she did not kill them first.
The show was not all comedy. It did touch some real life issues. Like when the eldest, a 16 year old realizies that he is far too old that anyone would adopt him and what happens to a small close knit orphanage when a child is adopted. entertaining all around.

"Red Dwarf" is one of the best Sci fi series to come from the British isles. the ship is red Dwarf. It has a crew of several thousnad members. Well it did. See the shipp floated about space so long that the crew died. Well not all of them. Lister, the new hero, fell asleep in a chamber that put him in stasis. Then there is Rimmer who is now a hologram. Kat is...well... part kat and part human. And what Sci Fi would be complete without an android. In this case Kryton. these comical buffoons have to somehow stay alive withouth killing each other first.
The show has taken the world be storm and Red Dwarf conventions are everywhere. This is no serious sci fi now. this is 100 percent comedy. Even the fight scenes. Heres a situation they were in. the ship lands on a planet where all the earths good guys and bad guys are robots and are fighting a war with the two side. Among the good guys are Marilyn Monroe, Ghandi and Winnie the Pooh. Pooh unfortunatly does not make it far. "there are some things that man should not see." the shoe is ingenius and comical.**CLICK ON PIC FOR MORE**

"Colt .45" the gun you fool, not the beer. Another American western that I love to watch but rarily can. The show is on the serious side and starred Wayde Preston in the lead role of the marshall. The show was a hit thoughout America for several seasons. there were two problems that the show faced. Preston started in the show as a clean shaven marshall of the frontier, but the producers thought that a marshall should be more refine and old enough to take the duties a marshall should. So how do we do that? Preston grows a moustach. the other problem was, as most shows, Preston grew tired of the show and left. Thus had to be replaceed. In this case, by Donald May, who possed as the Marshall Nephew. And brought another good show to an end.

"the Worst Witch" is one of the shows on my Wicca list. I have not actually show, but the special that starred Charelot Rae and Tim Curry. This is about an "all witch school",(don't ya wish) and the staff and students there in. The story is not so out of place. there is Mildred Hubble. Who...well, is having a tough time at learning all that there is to be a witch. Her friend pick on her and teavchers have trouble understanding her. really it is just like any kid in any school.
The special was ingenius and Tim Curry starring as the head Warlock played it to the hilt as always. Naturally, the hollywood theatrics are there, but it is not the special effects that the show is about, it is the stories themself. The special was filmed in England and it took several years to become a regular show on HBO. I am not sure if it is still running. If it isn't, rest assured that a X-tian had a hand in booting it off. A must see for all pagan kids, especially if they are having trouble fitting in. And even parents should watch it.

With Disney's new movie about to come out. its little suprise not to find this here. "Man From Atlantis" came of in the early 70's and I have only seen one episode as a repeat of it let I loved it. If anyone has more episodes and would love to trade, please let me know. One would think that with a title like this, the show is full of special effects and monsters and stuff. Actually it is far from it. this was less of a sci fi and more of a suspence show.

You have Mark. He is a Atlantian that is found and saved by scientists. He reveals to them what humans are doing to the waters and so the scientists devote their time to their new friend to stop the contanimation of the sea any more than what has been done. Thats about as far as I can get with this show. Patrick duffy plays the heroic Atlantian out to stop evil from destroying his home. Primative by todays standards, yet enjoyable..

Bordertown is one of the modern western TV shows, that have made a comeback. Filmed in Canada, this is about a western town that is called Bordertown. It sits on what is known as the 49th paralel. The division line that seperates Canada from the USA. There is alot of complications when you have a town like this. For one thing, two law officers. One is a "do it by the book" mountie and the other is a crusty Arizona marshal. And they are after the samething, Marie, a French doctor. .

Bordertown tried to stay true to history in many respects. Everyone does not carry a gun. Gun fights were not common and there were alot of other problems than just going after the bad guy. This show had spirit. Sadly it is now off the air. Yet the tapes can still be bought..

Robert Urick not only made a great "Buck Rogers" he made a beleivable one. This show is foar fromn the serials made in the 1930's. And beleive me, Erin Grey made the most Beautiful Col. Dearing. The plot is simple. What happens when you are an astronaut that is frozen in time and wake up 3000 years in the future? Order a ice cold beer is a good answer, if you can find anyone who knows what a beer is. And it is not easy to relax when aliens and robots are walkinmg about pointing at you, like you are a freak.

The show ran for a good long while and the American and European folk loved it. there were surprise guests every so often, like Gary Coleman and Buster Crabbe. Of course in some ways the show still stuck to the original stories. The evil Queen Amadala still was his prime nemesis. Only this time she was more sensual and her motives were more......sensual. Buster Crabbe incidently played the old Buck Rogers in those lame serials, for all you young whipper snappers out there saying "Who?" And his appearance on the show was fantastic.

I rarily got to watch StreetHAwk and at this moment don't remember too much about it. But lest put it this way. Take Nightrider, Get rid of the talking car, David Hasselhoff and the stupid trouble that he always got in and you have Street Hawk. A much better show than Night Rider ever was. And Street Hawk actually had a point. Not just a cute guys constantly getting KOed and kissing a girl. If you can find it, watch it. enjoy it.

"The Powers Of Mathewe Star" Was a great show with alot of potential. Unfortunatly, the show was doomed even before it got off the air. Mathewe star was an alien youth that accidently landed on earth and was found by a scientist, portrayed by Luo Gossit Jr. Since then he is being chased by aliens and humans alike. yet with his powers he is able to help folks out too.
During the course of making the show problems insued. Both actors ended up in accidents, sets fell apart and tons of other problems. It got to the point where the producers were going to drop the project all together. Yet, they invested too much time and money to end it now. They aired the first few episodes and that was all she wrote. A great show.
