A convention.
I have a convention to attend today, tomorrow and Wednesday. It will most likely be a lot of sales pitches in a very expensive hotel. I have heard that they give out a lot of free stuff, though, so it might be fun.We went shopping yesterday and picked out the dresses for the girls to wear in my sister's wedding. They are really pretty, and will go very nicely with the rest of the people. It's a relatively casual wedding, which is giving my mother fits, but suits my sister's personality. She's pretty laid back. I'm suprised they didn't just give up and elope.
I found an ad in the paper yesterday for a house in the country. It's three bedrooms, and for rent for $635. I called them on it, but haven't had any reply yet. Cross your fingers! It has occurred to me that if I can make my security deposit in installments I can move much earlier than I had previously thought.
The real bummer is that my roommate is sounding more and more sure he isn't coming. Apparently the most important thing to him is the drive-time being added by the move. He won't tell me what the other considerations have been, but I think he is still rationalizing about the kids. See, I believe that kids should have as many positive adult contacts as they possibly can, so they have a strong support base if they ever need one. Roomie seems to think that since he has no intention of making me his wife, that he is misleading the children, and encouraging false confidences.
I think that's completely ridiculous.
This has been a crappy morning. I went to my new doctor for a "new patient" HMO visit, expecting some kindly civilities and a medical history quiz, and not much else. No no no! Not only did I get everything I expected, I got sent to have blood drawn, and they gave me a tetanus shot on the spot. Grrr.
