Fire Faeries

Brown Men Short male faeries who protect the animals of Cornwall's Bodmin Moor. They are the cousins of the Scottish Brownies. They are, in actuality, shy around humans.

Drakes House spirits who bring blessings to your hearth and keep the firewood dry in exchange for living in your house. Unfortunately, they have an unpleasant odor.

Geancanach Pixie-like faeries with wings that are often mistaken for lightening bugs. Generally they guard the hearth and assist in fire-related spell work.

Ghillie Dhu Tree spirits who prefer birch and disguise themselves as foliage. They have a reputation for not liking humans. They have been known to enslave humans who are traveling in the woods, by use of enchantment.

Limniades Small orbs of pure light, similar to the English Will-O'-the-Wisps. They are found on the Greek countryside. No one really knows their purpose.

The Oakmen Male dwarf faeries who are guardians of the sacred oak groves. Unfriendly toward people, but no one's ever been harmed.

The Red Cap Looking like a skinny man without hair, the Red Cap carries a wooden scythe to kill any who invades an area he guards. IT is said he wears a red cap made from dried human blood. There is only one Red Cap, but he travels from place to place, haunting old castles and cairns.

Salamanders Very powerful beings who resemble the amphibians of the same name. Salamanders are often considered the archetypal elemental being of the South and Fire in ceremonial magick.

Will-O'-the-Wisp Appearance is of a group of flickering lights, low to the ground, near meadows and marshes, an hour or so after sunset. There is an argument as to whether or not these are actual faeries or just a trick of Trooping Faeries or faerie parties.
