Earth Faeries



Attorcroppe The Attororppe resembles a serpent with limbs and walks upright. Quite malevolent.

Ballybogs A small mud-covered faerie with a round body, thin arms and legs; they're harmless but unpleasant. May have originally been the guardian spirits of bogs.

Boggarts (Goblins, Hobgoblins, Boogies) Male faerie like the Brownie but ill-tempered and enjoy destroying things. They like to eat wood like termites and enjoy tormenting children.

Brownies One of the nicest faeries. They are small male dwarf faeries, which wear green, blue, or brown suits with felt caps. They love to help out around the home.

Clurichauns A solitary faerie that resembles like a Leprechaun. They are guardians of wine cellars.

Duergarrs Dwarf faeries who guard faerie paths and play pranks on travelers by moving signposts and confusing forks in the road.

Elves Most are genial. They spin and sew quite well and aid in protection magick.

Fireesin Solitary faeries who assist farmers.

Gnomes Dwarf faeries that give the impression of being old. The males, females, and children all wear peasant costumes. Typically they live in forests under oak trees, and they love animals. They are the archetypal Earth Elementals who are called to witness ceremonial magick.

Irish Elves They live in the earth in the root systems of sacred trees. At night they help woodland animals. Occasionally they do good deeds for humans but over thanking them will keep them from returning.

Knockers These faeries live in mines and caves and assist miners by knocking where ore and minerals are to be found. They have also been known to warn miners of impending disaster by knocking frantically.

Leprechauns The solitary trickster faerie who plays pranks on humans. He guards a pot of gold, which is associated with the Crone Goddess. It is said that they love to dance and drink Irish whiskey.

Moerae Moerae appear as triads, representing the Maiden, the Mother, and the Crone. They determine the fates of children, and are also said to help with inspiration and divination.

Pyrenees Believed to live inside of great stone megaliths.

Sleigh Beggy Many believe the Sleigh Beggy to have been the original inhabitants of the Isle of Man. They hate artificial light and the taste of salt.

Sylvans Beautiful faeries that are believed to ensnare humans to their deaths in the woods.

Tighe Faeries Believed to be related to the Brownie. They also live in homes to help with the chores that were not accomplished during the day (but not if there is a cat in the house!) .

Trolls Hairy, grotesque faeries that hate living creatures: humans, animals, and other faeries. They are guardians of lanes.

Urisks Ugly creatures who are very friendly and love human companionship. They are very helpful if you show them friendship.

Wag-by-the-Way A faerie with a long tail like a cat. He lives in homes where he enjoys living like a pet.

Yann-An-Od Resembles an old shepherd and guards animals (usually sheep) ubiquitously.
