Hasanuddin University is situated to the north of Makassar, and can be reached by taking the road to Hasanuddin Airport and the city of Maros. The main gate of Hasanuddin University Tamalanrea is on the left, with the campus buildings at about 500 meters from the gate.

Reachable in 45 minutes by taxi.

By pete-pete (special Unhas route) No. 01 – 07, or by taxi.

The campus is 12 Km from the airport and can be reached by taxi or bus (approx. 20 minutes).

During the event the committee will provide transportation to and from the location of events in the morning and evening. The committee will provide a list of the nearest hotels. Participants can choose their own accommodations and make reservations by filling in the attached form. Forms for accommodations must be received by the Unhas committee no later than May 31, 2000. Participants intending to present papers must fill in the form for abstracts (300 words) for further selection, which must be received by the Steering Committee at the University of Indonesia no later than March 31, 2000. Paper should not more than 5000 words, typed in double spacing on A4 size paper. Please send to the Organizing Committee at Hasanuddin University, Makassar, two copies of manuscript, plus a diskette of 3.5" (DOS formatted), specifying the software used (preferably Microsoft Word). The complete paper must be received by the Committee no later than June 30, 2000. Participants and presenters may purchase papers from the Organizing Committee at Unhas. The selected papers will be published in the Jurnal ANTROPOLOGI INDONESIA vol.. 25 (3 editions), 2001. Orders for the journal can be made at the desk of Jurnal Antropologi Indonesia during the symposium and workshop. Participants who will be making an audio-visual presentation should contact the Committee at Unhas to ensure that the proper equipment can be furnished. Registration fees for the International Symposium and Workshop is US$ 100. Fees are payable to Bank BNI Cabang Tamalanrea, acct.# 007.780.223.986.901, c/o: Drs. Pawennari Hijjang or to the Secretariat at Unhas on the day of the symposium. The deadline for registration is July 21, 2000.
