Chapter 5

I don't know why, but for some reason I waited up from him that night. I ate dinner, watched TV, and read a book. He came home around two in the morning. I heard his door open and close. And finally, I closed my eyes and went to sleep. Four hours later I was woken by somebody calling my name and shaking me. I opened my eyes and I was surprised to be staring in the face of Brian.

"What do you want?" I asked annoyed.

"I'm leaving in about an hour, and we need to talk before I do." I looked at the clock. It was 6:00 a.m.

"I'm not getting up at 6 in the morning to wish you farewell."

"Get up Belle."

"No," I said turning over.

"Fine, have it your way" he said. He reached down and picked me up and out of bed.

"Put me down, what are you doing!"

"You didn't want to get,"

"Okay, okay, just let me brush my teeth at least.

"All right, just hurry up,"

(Brian's POV)

About five minutes later she came downstairs. She was beautiful no doubt. I knew six years ago that she would grow up to be a very beautiful, sexy, young lady, but I had no idea she would look this good. It had been a while since a woman had this kind of an effect on me; actually, she was the only woman who ever had this kind of effect on me. I admit I felt guilty for the negative feeling I had toward her son, my cousin. It wasn't responsible for his parents' mistakes. She sat down across the table from me.

"Well?" she asked.

"I'll probably be back in a day or two, when I get back we'll go to Lexington. When we get there we'll stay about a week and then I'll help you get settled here in Florida."

"How?" she asked.

"I have a house that you and Jakob can live in."

"You said his name,"

"Is that a big deal or something?"

"Yeah, considering it came out of your mouth,"

"It's not like I hate him or anything,"

"I couldn't tell"

"He's my cousin,"

"So you feel it's an obligation to like him?"

"No, it's not his fault who his parents are,"

"Or cousins" she said leaving the table.
