"Your mom's pretty cool Ajah," Leela said.
"Yeah I know, it's just that I feel a little bit weird being around her,"
"Yeah, that would be kind of weird, what does your dad think about her?"
"He likes her, and she likes him,"
"And I guess that you don't particularly want them together?"
"You know how I get about my dad,"
"Yeah jealous,"
"Not jealous, why would I be jealous of my own mom, I just don't know if I can take sharing my dad with her this early,"
"But most kids want their parents to get back together,"
"I'm not like all kids Leela, and neither are you,"
"One more question, what about your dad's girlfriend, if he doesn't get back with you Mom, he'll probably marry Amanda, he's always talking about his life and future with her"
"Amanda?"
"Yeah,"
"I'm sure she'll be out the picture pretty soon."
"Sshh…your Mom's coming back,"
(A.J.'s POV)
I admit, I was relieved when Ajah decided to accept MaKentreey; I know it means a lot to her that Ajah accepts her. But what surprised me was that I was very disappointed when I found out that Ajah didn't want us to be together, because maybe that was exactly what I wanted. But besides all that she moved on and so did I.
"But how could those feeling just come back like that?" I asked myself. Maybe they never left. Of course they left, they left when I found out that she didn't love me, only wanted a physical relationship, when I wanted so much more. Last night was so wrong, but felt so right. Did she feel the same way? She thought I regretted it, but in reality, I couldn't have been happier. Ajah seemed to like her, and maybe in time she will be comfortable about me and her mother having a relationship. The door opened and Leela and Ajah walked in followed by MaKentreey. I stood up.
"Did y'all have a good time?" I asked.
"Yeah daddy, MaKentreey is really cool, you should have come with us."
"Next time I will,"
"Daddy is it okay if Leela sleeps over tonight?"
"Did you ask your parents?" I asked.
"Uh huh," she answered.
"Yeah, sure then,"
"We'll be in my room," the girls said running up the stairs.
"So…" Kentreey said not looking at me.
"We need to talk," She nodded and sat down across from me again.
"Where do we start?" she asked.
"How about what happened last night?"
"No Mac, we both agreed that it never happened,"
"Mack?" I asked. She looked away from me. "You haven't called me that in years," I said. She sighed.
"Excuse me, I meant A.J.," I went over and sat beside her and she scooted over
"Do you remember when you first called me that?"
"Yes," she said barely above a whisper.
"When?"
"No, you know when,"
"I want to hear you say it,"
"Why?"
"I don't know, I just do,"
"You, when A.J., I'm more that sure you remember,"
"When did you first call me that Entry?"
"Dammit A.J., it was the night that I got pregnant with Ajah,"
"and why did you call me that?"
"Because you had just came from McDonald's and your clothes smelled like McDonalds and because of the beginning of your last name,"
"That night was so special to me, MaKentreey," I said looking into her eyes.
"Only because it produced Ajah,"
"Yes, but that's not all, because it was my first time, and my first time was with you,"
"Forget about the past A.J., last night was wrong, I know you regret it,"
"I don't, none of it,"
"You don't"
"That's what I've been trying to tell you all day," I leaned toward her and cupped her face between my hands. "I've never regretted anything that has happened between us." I said.
"I haven't either A.J." Then I finally brought my lips to hers. She sighed against me and gave in. My arms went around her waist automatically and her arms went around my neck. I pulled her closer to me. She ran her hand across my chest underneath my shirt.
"Daddy, I can't find my ballet slippers!" Ajah yelled. MaKentreey quickly jumped away from me. She didn't say a word, just looked at me.
"They're in the closet in the hall," I yelled back to her.
"Oh okay, thanks Dad,"
"I'm leaving, I'll call you later on tonight, bye," she said and was at the door before I could protest. She stopped at the door.
"A.J.?"
"Yes?"
"Do you forgive me?"
"Oh…I don't know, I don't know if I can forget what you did so quickly." I answered truthfully.
"But maybe in time you can?"
"Yes, in time I probably can," I said. She smiled and left.
