Chapter 8

"What did she say?" A.J. asked as I sat down on the couch across from him.

"She asked me to sit down here and let her sort out her thoughts and feelings,"

"Oh okay," An uncomfortable silence filled the room. "Kentreey, about last night," he said bringing up the other subject that had been on my mind all day long.

"You regretted it, you don't have to tell me A.J."

"No Kentreey, I-"

"Daddy, MaKeenrty?" I looked from A.J. to Ajah. She came and stood in front of me.

"What is it baby?" A.J. asked.

"I've reached a decision, I want you to be part of my life MaKentreey, you're my mother, and I accept that, it might take a while for me to call you that but…" I nodded. "There's one thing that I'm asking, the both of you?"

"What is it I asked?"

"I know it sounds selfish, it is selfish, but I don't want you two to have anything going on between you,"

"Why?" A.J. asked as if he was shocked.

"I don't know if I can share you with MaKentreey, besides, what would Amanda think if she came home this week?" I looked at A.J. and he avoided my eyes.

"Umm…who is Amanda?"

"Daddy's girlfriend, I take it he didn't tell you?"

"No, he continently forgot to mention that," I said glaring at him.

"Ajah, can I ask you something?"

"Yeah sure, what?"

"Do you call this Amanda woman, Mom?"

"No, I don't even like her,"

"Ajah, you never like any of the girls I date,"

"True, and I'm almost positive that Jermie would not take that as good news either," I gasped.

"Who is Jermie?" A.J. asked.

"MaKentreey's boyfriend,"

"Boyfriend?" He turned to me. "You didn't tell me you had a boyfriend!"

"Well you didn't tell me you had a girlfriend!" I cried. "How do you know about Jermie?" I asked.

"Leela's father is a very big name at the hospital, she got your files for me and everything," She answered.

"Leela is only eight years old!" I said.

"She's a very intelligent girl, she got the people who work there to give it to her, even though your file didn't mention him, some of your co workers did,"

"Oh," was all I could say.

"MaKentreey, when do you think we should start this bonding session?"

"How about you call Leela and I take you both out for pizza?"

"Okay!" She called Leela's mom and asked if it was okay for her to hang out with us. She agreed. We picked Leela up and the girls decided that we should go to Chuck E. Cheese.
