(MaKentreey's POV)
I woke up and immediately felt a presence next to me. I quickly jerked around. The memories of last night flooded over me. Oh my God, this was not good. A.J. had his arms around me and I wondered how something so wrong could feel so right. I watched as his eyelids fluttered open and a look of surprise went over his face.
"This is not good A.J." I said. I nodded.
"This never happened," We said at the same time.
(Later)
"Hi A.J." I said. I carefully avoided his eyes.
"Hey, come on in," he said. I walked in and my body brushed against his. I quickly moved away. He looked at me. Damn he looked good. He had on some dark blue FUBU jeans and a white muscle shirt showing off his amazing chest. I tried to not let my staring be obvious. But I knew he knew, he always knew.
"Where is she?" I said.
"In her room,"
"I don't know her at all, I don't want to just go up there and…you know,"
"Want me to tell you the basic things about her life?"
"Yeah,"
"Have a seat. Okay, you know she's 7, her best friend since birth is Leela Carter, Nick's cousin, she's way into basketball because of her constant hanging out with Brian and Nick, and she's in love with gymnastics too. She's been traveling with me since she was born, so she is home schooled, she knows her nationality, nobody in the public knows a thing or even suspects that she exists"
"Why not?"
"No, don't you dare think that I' m ashamed of her, because I'm not, she's the most important thing in my life, it's just that I don't want her in the public eye, she's too young for that, when she's older, I'll introduce her to the world," I nodded. "As you know, she thought you were dead, you were just as good as dead to her, so I told her that,"
"I understand that," I said.
"And as I said before, if she wants you in her life I won't object to it, but-"
"But if she doesn't that's my problem," I finished for him. He nodded. "Well I guess I'll go up now…" I said getting up.
"I'll give you your privacy." A.J. said. He told me which room was hers and I made my way up the stairs to it. I knocked on the door. "What is it Daddy?" She answered from inside. I opened the door a little.
"It's not your Daddy, it's me." I said. She gave me a glare and got up from her position on the floor watching TV to stand before me.
"What do you want?"
"I came to talk to you,"
"There's nothing to talk about,"
"I want you to know why I have did all the things I have done,"
"I don't care why you did them,"
"I still want you to know, will you let me talk to you Ajaie?"
"No, I want you to leave,"
"Please, I know you don't believe me, and I don't expect you too, but you mean the world to me, and I need you to know this," She looked at me, into my eyes.
"Okay, I guess I'll listen," she said finally giving in. She sat down on her bed and I pulled a chair up to her bed.
"You were born when I was 16, and besides my family, I had no way to take care of you, I had planned my future out. I wanted to have kids after I finished college and had money and was married. But I met A.J, and I had you. I knew A.J. didn't love me, and I couldn't have a child with him, with no life of my own, to not be able to give you what you needed. I loved you with all my heart, but I couldn't let you grow up with me as your mother, you deserved a good family, I thought A.J. would marry and find you a mother, you deserved better than me, and I knew that your father could provide that. But then when I got a job as a pediatrician, I saw all the other mothers with their children. But don't think that I had just forgotten about you until then, I have thought about you every day, every minute, every second of my life since. I made a horrible mistake, and I'm not worthy of your forgiveness, but I'm asking for it, and maybe you can find it in your heart to forgive me."
"Why did you wait so long?"
"I wanted you to be older so you could understand all of this just a little bit,"
"I guess I do…but why did you lie at the hospital?"
"Your father didn't want you to know who I was, we thought it would just hurt you more,"
"I can understand that"
"I'm not asking you to claim me as your mother, though I would love that, I'm just asking that you please let me be apart of your life Ajaie," I saw the shining of the unshed tears in her eyes.
"I'll…I'll think about it,"
"Okay, thank you Ajah, you don't know how much you mean to me," She nodded.
"Will you stay downstairs, I'll come down when I'm ready."
"Of course I will, I said,"
