Influences

Joan of Arc: a peasant girl of low class with big dreams, living during a time when France was in complete choas (1400's). At an early age, she received visions from apparently God himself, who said to her that she was the chosen one who was to bring reign to the rightful king of France, the dauphin, Charles VII and to drive out the invaders of France, the English. Dressed as a man, she achieved this, but the English eventually accused her of witchery, heresy and being dressed as a man (an apparent crime) and without a fair trial, and Charles VII failing to recognize her as a heroine, she was burned at the stake at the hands of the English. Fifty years after her death, Charles Vii brought her into light and demanded an investigation of the trial. They found her innocent, and five hundred years later, the pope declared her a saint.

Phyllis Wheatley: Living during a harsh time, a time of discrimination against African Americans (1700's), Phyllis Wheatley was a slave, and was sold into slavery to John and Susannah Wheatley of Boston around 1760. At an early age, Phillis displayed remarkable literary talents and published her first poem, in 1770, when she was just 17. Three years later, a volume of her poetry was published in London and Wheatley became a sensation. Against all odds, she became an internationally renown poet, and America's first published black poet.

Other Inspirations: Hayden Christensen, Kelly Osbourne, Gwen Stefani, Michelle Rodriguez, Ed the Sock, Simon Cowell (hehe :P)
