Some people Fail
today i learned that honesty is apparently not the best policy. the world says freedom of speach, you mother says if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything.

is this a case of balance or be damned? i dunno, last time i checked, the right not to hear anything upsetting was wasn't an inalienable right. not in canada anyway.

so, if you really find something the problem, sue of lible, but chances are, you can't, because it's either too subjective, or true.

free speach is a right that protects the world from censorship. censorship sucks. don't be that person. if you don't like what someones doing, tell them, but they don't have to stop, and if you someone tells you they don't like it, you don't have to stop.

to take what you make

what made you learn this today?

and whether honesty is the best policy or not depends on your definition of best, i guess. if you mean in a sort of abstract philosophical way, or in certain situations, then yes. but sometimes you just have to suck it up and keep quiet....for a variety of reasons

First of all, not everyones opinion needs to be taken to heart. Choose the people around you and decide from there, upon how the treat you and others, whether their opinion is to be held in high regard or tossed out like trash.
Secondly, there comes a time when one must bite ones tongue for the sake of personal quiet. Not everything racing through ones head needs to be projected. And if it -does- need to be expressed, tact comes in handy. Though sadly, so few people know how to use that.

when i wrote this, i was beening (possibly unsuccessfully) sarcastic on both sides of the argument. maybe i'm amaysed.

my feelings on the subject are say what you feel, but tackfully is best.

heres a question. how come people don't post comments here, is my stuff just not that interesting? what the dilly, yo?

Lol. You said "what the dilly, yo?" That amuses me so much. Hmmm. On the matter of honesty and such, I'm all for being open. Not cruel. Although with someone you're close with it's more important to be honest than nice. Tell them everything relavent. I don't like secrets. If they are being silly say so. Criticize their actions, not who they are. As to the whole comment thing, it feels like it's more effort to reply in this style of commenting. Andre had the same problem. It's also harder to comment on poetry. Feels like you're taking a bigger chance when you put forth your two cents. I always like seeing Dave thoughts. So you keep writing and I'll start commenting more. Okay?

yeah dave, start commenting more on my blog. i comment more on yours than you do on mine. stop being such a hoebag, sucky suckerson. that's my word of the day. more than the day....it's a fantastic word. wow, i sound like a bitter hoebag when i comment.....but i'm not!

and kate, i don't think it's always best to be completely honest...not lying obviously...but sometimes there are things that people just aren't ready to hear. doesn't mean you can't tell them eventually....but the situation has to be right because sometimes the truth hurts.

What the crap?! I posted a comment, then this durn fool contraption deleted it or something. It just disappeared. Well all I said was

1. Hi Dave.
2. Then something to the effect of Dave Clarke's name is like your name.
3. Do you run any rpol games?
4. The Pogues and iTunes are both liked by me.
5. Because iTunes lets me listen to the Pogues w/o the whole stealing thing.
6. then I brought up rpol again, 'cause I mean you got the link right there.

And that was my comment's gist. Now if THIS one ups and gets deleted too I'm gonna send you a flaming deathmail, whatever that is. I don't know what that is. But I'll cook something up. So you better not hope this doesn't not unget antideleted. That seems pretty straightforward. Christmas is comin and I'm gonna buy you a pizza or something.
