a real entry
it's been a while, or not, but the last few real for honest goodness blog entries have had some negitive emotion attached to them. so, back on track, a blog entry in the first wave of weblogin':

i'm working on a set of odes. to you all, or rather aspects of your personalities. the aspects of personalities amplified and personified. i've been writting alot of poetry lately. does being a poet automatically require drama?

Drama isn't required, but it certainly helps.

I don't think drama helps poetry. I think it hinders it. The vast majority of poems that I actually like are very lacking in drama.

What IS drama?

Is it the curl of an actor's hand? The progression of his voice as he flows from cadence to cadence, skips from one trochee to the next?

Will it be there even when he is not acting? If being an actor means being dramatic,

then

can't it be said that being dramatic at all times, he never acts, and so in being an actor cannot be an actor?

Is the thing undone by uneven tempo? Does drama make poetry, vice-versa, or none? Will a poem not be there if it cannot mouth itself on a podium, or is it the actor who cannot be without lines?

When is a question not a question

(

?

)

When is an answer ditto?

TRUTH OR FALSEHOOD:
is there no beauty?
