I just read Bob's E-mail regarding trying to make changes in his benefits. I
too hopefully got my changes made again today. In early Nov I called Benefits
Resources and requested eye coverage be eliminated in 2005. After a few days I
checked my account on-line and found the change was not made. I amended my
account on line and after checking found the changes were made, or so I
thought. Last Friday I received a statement from Hewitt again indicating that
I would be covered for eye care in 2005. I called Benefits Express again today
and was assured they would make the change. Seems to me they have a bunch of
rookies running the program. Every retiree should monitor his account to be
certain he or she has the coverage they desire.

For 2004, I just carried dental insurance for Arlene and me. I called in to
1-800-6-NALCO-6 earlier and told them that I wanted to continue only dental.
I got my confirmation today--for both dental and medical. I called in again
and, hopefully, got it corrected once and for all.
I think they have fired, reFired and retired all competence from the company.
If they were to appear as disorganized and inefficient to customers, they
would have a rapidly declining customer base. For the sake of those poor souls
who remain, I hope this is not the case.
