The Flashbacks are located in the Highland Lakes area of the Texas Hill Country. The members come from Marble Falls, Kingsland,Burnet, Lago Vista, Lampasas, Granite Shoals, Austin, and other communities in the area. The people who make up this band are all very fine musicians who come from many professional backgrounds. Some are music educators, some have retired from music fields, some have retired from business fields, and some are still active in their chosen professions. The one thing we all have in common is that we all love to play---This is our passion!!!

The two gentlemen pictured above are Gene Markley and Ken Carpenter. Ken,along with his wife, Helen are the only two original members of the flashbacks still with the band. Ken managed and kicked off the band until a few years ago. Ken is still our lead Alto, Helen is our Piano player, and Ken remains our chief adviser.
When Ken retired, Gene Markley took over the management of the band. He is also the man who kicks off the band. Gene plays the solo chair in the Trumpet section. Gene is also the leader of the smaller group called the Skylarks, who also are represented on this site.
