 DEAD PLEASURES HIATUS

 Terribly sorry, but the "special someone" (Fen) in my life is going to be finding out the true meaning of "'til death do us part". There are several incredibly terrible and nasty names I wish to call him, and shall call him. To his face, not here, where it will get me in trouble with IMVU admin and probably several human rights organizations... although I'm fairly certain somewhere out there, there's a Trekkie nerd (just like me) reading this page who would find it totally hot that I'm gonna cuss out my guy in Klingon.

As for the rest of you, please feel free to deliver to Fen all your dislike and loathing virtually. And women- don't take your eyes off your guy for a second. They'll go online using your computer and download adult content. That content shall be riddled with Trojans and other viruses. Your computer shall die and you shall face the Blue Screen of Death.

That being said- Fen did exactly that, even after being told several times to watch out for downloading viral infections. Well, long story short, I couldn't keep up. They formed some kind of freaky virus kung-fu organization and attacked... then my computer crashed. AND I HAD TO DO A FULL SYSTEM RESTORE. UGH! Not happy, not kosher, not cool.

So please- understand that I'm not taking requests because I don't like you. In reality, somewhere along the way of all this refuse some head-hunting, tricked-out mosswipe of a program took out my photo editor like a busboy takes out the garbage, and I am now sans capability to make anything new. I'm desperately hunting down my original disk now. If all else fails I'm gonna call DELL Computers, explain that I have a nitwit living with me, and grovel pathetically to try and get a new copy. So, hopefully, it shouldn't be too long until I can get at least an interim solution if not a full one. Until then, please hang in there with me and understand that I've had a really lousy couple of months and IT WASN'T MY FAULT! (Cry! Sob! Sniffle! :*[ )

 All the old stuff is still up, and I got several new things made in the past few days for both the IMVU site and for the CafePress store, but all the shiny new stuff I was working on will be postponed indefinitely until I get Photoshop reinstalled.

Whoo!  I'm adding stuff!  I've done some updating to the FAQ section in the IMVU pages.  The "Help!  I'm New!" page has had a couple questions added and updates made to old questions so that they now jive with current IMVU chat protocols.  The "Um... The Heck?!" section has been officially started, and we're startin' off with a doozy.  If you need a good laugh at the expense of unnamed idiots, go there.  Seriously.

Also, I've been working on some artsy stuff lately....  Been making my own brushes in Photoshop and all.  I'm PLANNING a collection of brushes and clip art that I will sell in our DEAD PLEASURES CafePress Store.  Not sure when that one's gonna be out, but I assure you I am making hotsy totsy stuff for it.  I've also been working on new textures for other CafePress items...  Look for them in the next couple of weeks!

Happy 4th, everyone!  We have tasty new updates to celebrate the holiday!  What could be more "rebellious colonist" than exploring how the population of Europe died?  (No offense to my fans across the pond....  I feel that putting up a cool new webpage is more ecologically friendly and less potentially fatal than, to quote <i>The Simpsons</i>, "celebrating the birth of the country by blowing up a small part of it".)  So, what do we have?  A new page on the Black Death in the Sanatoriums section!  What does it do?  It does DEATH!  YES!

PLUS this is a great month for me!  Last month marked the 2nd month in a row that you wonderful people have given Melvin and me over 1,000 hits.  THANK YOU!  It also marked the 1-year anniversary of the DeathSong page.  THANKS AGAIN!  So what have I done?  I made a banner!  CHECK IT!

Okay, peopleses. I've been sneaking about behind the scenes lately (mainly because my schedule at work lately doesn't allow for much else). But! But but but, and but again! I have finally gotten together the page for the Essex Mountain Sanatorium- yay! A whole new creepy place for you to learn about. There are no links to outside sources at the time- my ISP crapped out on me right as I was looking for them. They will be up around Wednesday, June 27, or so.

Unfortunately, this particular sanatorium is no longer in existence, as demolition was completed in 2003... That means no tours are available, sorry, not my fault. Rag on the governing bodies of Essex County, New Jersey, USA, if you're as ticked off as I am. I mean, come on! They destroyed a building that rightly qualified for the National Register of Historic Places, taking with it beautiful original murals and a definite tourism spot... (Come on, admit it... I know I'm not the only one; plenty of you goths out there would find a tour of a TB hospital just the thing for a charming picnic, summer vacation spot, or honeymoon stop.)

Speaking of tours... Those of you who have been emailing me for the tour information of Waverly Hills Sanatorium/Woodhaven Geriatric Center seriously need to just knock it off. I'm not affiliated with the Waverly Historical Society in any way, not to mention I have the owner's email information in plain sight. Please don't be a dork- READ the bloody page before you come whining to me going "But Miss Mousie.... I can't fiiiind iiiit!" Miss Mousie does not react well to stupidity... It's my kryptonite, turning me from "Nice-Mousie" to "Super-Wicked-Villainess-Mousie-Who-Shall-Make-You-Eat-Gym-Sock-Soup". Not a healthy way to go, I assure you. So yeah- all the information is already there for you, use it already!

You people are lucky lucky LUCKY! I got up EARLY this morning just for you people... The Waverly Hills Sanatorium Page has been completely updated! The format is now more in line with the rest of the website and matches the entire section completely. Plus the Tuberculosis photos/images are now hosted completely by me, so no more usage of other people's bandwidth.... YAY! (Why yay? Because stealing bandwidth is wrong, and no one should use the bandwidth of others unless there's no other choice!) I gotta go shower and get ready for work... Ciao!

Whew! I've been Photoshopping like a madwoman to get all the content on the site index into some kind of uniformity.... So poof, new site index! Bonus points for the Mousie because 'tis swanky. I hope you like it, considering how I slaved over a hot PC for literally hours to get it to you. So yeah, you BETTER freakin' like it. :D Or I'll find you and have Melvin poo in your shoes while you sleep.

PS: to those potential freaky-people... Yes, I am threatening you with cyber-poo from an imaginary bunny. If you decide to be weird and take that to the police, please know that they (and I) shall all enjoy a hearty laugh at your expense over scones and hot chocolate. Cheers!

Okay... I snagged a few minutes to update the featured artist for you all, but haven't had a chance to let you know officially until just now. This month's artist is The Bastard Fairies. Yes, that's their name. No, I can't really do much about it, can I? Anyway....

PARENTS! YOU! YES! Do NOT let your under-18's listen to this band unless you check them out first! Why? Because they're funny as all get out, but ocassionally a little naughty, and you might not appreciate your kids listening to them. You've been warned, so check them out first.... Be proactive in guarding your children, because IT IS NOT MY JOB TO BABYSIT YOUR KID!

Now that the ranty-warny part of the news is over, I have a brand-new section for you all. It's called "Above the Fold". All you have to do is click on the banner at the bottom of the page and you'll get there! What is it? Well, it's a request from some of your fellow visitors who were upset that they missed a few updates. So I made a blog just for you all to catch up on the news. The Sanatorium section has been revamped a little. I'm also going to be starting in on my Sanitarium section soon (it'll be a part of the Sanatorium section for now... just until I can throw together its own little corner or the boneyard). The Tuberculosis page is fully online and 100% complete- everything you ever wanted to know about TB is on that page, including: symptoms, treatments, images, and famous afflictees.

I'm going to be revamping the Waverly Hills Sanatorium page soon to match the rest of the site, include more information, and have easier navigation. I'm also working hard on a new page... it will feature the Essex Mountain Sanatorium (a TB hospital).

Like I promised at the beginning of the year- all new goo-gaws for you! Feel free to drool whilst checking out all the awesomeness. Plus I'm gonna be putting up the new featured artist within the next few days, so come back soon to find out who we're going to be seeing next!

A few family problems, plus work and all the stress that entails, plus designing for IMVU, plus cleaning up my CafePress store... I've been a busy Mousie! But I've still had time to make several updates to the Spooky! section. It's had a TOTAL OVERHAUL, and now it's back and better than ever! It has easier, more consistent formatting, graphics upgrades, new info and links... plus I weened out all the crap that no one was using (including me). In other news, I helped Melvin get his latest blog entry in today... Go read it!

Okay, I've been working my butt off at a real job for a while, so I've been a little slow on the updates... Deal with it- you try working 10 days with only one off, and see if you feel like doing anything but climbing into bed when you get home! Anyway, I've updated the DeathSong section, so we have a new artist of the month... Enjoy!
