Office of BPA Secretary Kevin Tracy
BPA Secretary Kevin Tracy

For Immediate Release
Date: 02-02-25

SECRETARY TRACY: Ok, I'm back from Indy.  I had a great time, our web team placed 9th in the state and I also earned a Certificate of Technical Achievment, or CTA in graphic design.

We are also sending 3 people to National Competition, those being Meridth, Paul, and Oliver.

On a more personal note, i turned 18 Friday and therefore decided to use the new powers that came with it, I went into a gas station on the way to Indy and bought a cigar.  I have no intention of smoking it, my life is too important and even 7 seconds cut off from my life would be considered a cruel crime to the world. I do, now that I have purchansed a tobacco product, stand opposed to the heavy taxation of those goods.

How about I just answer some questions?

Q: Don't you feel you are setting a young example for young ones by buying a cigar?

SECRETARY TRACY: How? I am teaching kids to only buy tobacco products after they turn 18.  I'm teaching kids to obey and respect the law.

Q: What brand cigar?

SECRETARY TRACY: Cheap. *pauses for laughter.* It was a Phillies.

Q: What are you going to do with it if you aren't going to smoke it?

SECRETARY TRACY: Watch Rush Limbaugh's Dittocam with it next time I'm home on a weekday.

Q: How many teams went to state again?

SECRETARY TRACY: Twelve

Q: Any comments?

SECRETARY TRACY: Other webteams changed, edited, and even redid their sites following the January 12 deadline.  Therefore they should have been disqualified.  We did NOT alter ours.  Now it wouldn't have made that big of a deal, we might have gotten in 8th or even 7th place if the others didn't alter their sites.  But we would have done most excellent if the other teams were disqualified.

Q: How did you get the CTA?

SECRETARY TRACY: I had to make a flyer for a March 15th Job Fair in the Government Center.

Q: Any good stories?

SECRETARY TRACY laughing: None that I think I want you to know about.

Q: Oh common.

SECRETARY TRACY: We saw Queen of the Damned and Paul and I had some good Mexican, well, a lot of Mexican. But besides that, what's done in private remains in private. I am still a Republican however.

Q: How was being a voting delegate?

SECRETARY TRACY: Lots of fun, Meridth Chase, District President Lezlie Kurzinski, and I were treated like royalty when we were in the campaign area. We ended up voting for the candidate with the 2nd most votes making her the Vice-President.  I just wish I had found her to congradulate her on her victory after they had announced the winners. I don't know Joy's last name or school, so I don't know how to find her online(if she has the internet) but I'll probably look by the end of the week.

Q: How was the hotel?

SECRETARY TRACY: VERY NICE! The rooms were small, but nicer than most.  For those who don't know, we stayed at the Mariott Hotel in downtown Indy. I didn't see the pool area, but everything was very beutiful.  I felt very comfortable being in a suit for those 3 days in that atmsofere.

Well, I have to get some sleep.  A link should be on the page that this is posted with pictures from the trip.  Be sure to check it out.
