Kayo's
parents took me, Kayo, Kayo's sister Keiko and Keiko's boyfriend out
for sukiyaki in Shinjuku. Awesome!
Mmm, soooooo good. There's nuthin' like it in the States, you have
to come to Japan for the real thing, complete with the raw egg to
dip and cool the meat slices in. Mmm!
Afterwards,
bought a color printer and scanner, both Canon (BubbleJet F360 and
CanonScan N656U. Y24,000 total -- compared to the $400 printer and
$400 scanner I got from HP four years ago, a very cool deal. I'm thinking
they'll work about as well as the HP stuff, which was high-end way
back when.
I'll
need to download the english drivers for each unit because the Japanese
drivers that came with 'em didn't perform so well on my english Win98se
system. And on my Windows installation disk only Epson and HP printers
are represented... which I guess explains why they cost $50 more than
comparable Canon units.
Less
interestingly, I also had Japanese milk for the first time yesterday,
and had a big ol' can of "American Coffee" this afternoon...
and never in my life has my arse exploded with such tremendous poop-force!
I was afraid it was gonna start squirting out my belly button, so
intense was the milk-n-coffee Draino effect. A word to the wise!
