SONGS I'M ASHAMED TO ADMIT TO LIKING
The Strokes - Hard to Explain
I have no respect for the Strokes whatsoever. I hate how they claim to be indie when they’re a bunch of snotty rich kids who were immediately signed to a major label with as little hard work as possible. This song, however, is pretty kick ass.
Actionslacks - Folding Chair
Their music is waaaay too poppy for my taste, but this song is so sad and so beautiful I can’t help but be addicted to it.
Boxcar Racer - Cat Like Thief
Ok, so I admit it. The Boxcar Racer album was good. And I’m sorry, but when a song can actually make you want to cry, it doesn’t matter that a couple of its composers are some of the biggest sellouts out there.
Green Day - Hitchin’ a Ride
Like almost every other member of Generation-Y, or whatever the hell we’re called, Green Day was one of my first bands. This song brings back two of the only good memories I have from elementary school.
AC/DC - Big Balls
It’s funny as hell and doesn’t sound like every other AC/DC song.
Oasis - Wonderwall
Come on, its beautiful. But Champagne Supernova did suck.
Blink 182 - Adam’s Song
It doesn’t matter how depressed I am; this song always makes me feel better, even though, as I mentioned before, they are some of the biggest sellouts out there.
Metallica - Mama Said
I’ve always had this love-hate relationship with Metallica. This song borderlines on a country ballad, which, frankly, is just plain wrong, but its haunting in a way.
Cheap Trick - Surrender
I always thought this was a Rush song, which doesn’t exactly make things any better.....
Mycomplex - We Have Seasons Here
It’s so pop-punky that I want to shoot myself for liking it.
