We have an aggressive drug enforcement/diversion program. We have zero tolerance on domestic violence.
Though, we are a small agency with just 11 deputies, 2 detectives, and the sheriff, we have "big agency goals". The Jennings County Sheriff's Office has recently implemented an Emergency Response Team that can respond to hostage situations, barricaded subjects, active shooter, warrant execution, and more.
The department sponsors various community programs. One such program, "It's your choice", allows parents of troubled youths the opportunity to bring their child to the jail. The child is assigned to a jail officer and "job shadows" for a day. This provides the kids the chance to see first hand how the jail operates, and to speak with inmates. This has been a successful crime deterrent within the county.
We also work closely with community organizations such as "Parents Against Drugs".
The Jennings County Sheriffs Department along with "Parents Against Drugs" would like to convey this message to ALL who contemplate selling drugs in our community;
"These activities will be considered an act of terrorism against the peace and dignity of this community. You WILL be caught, and you will be dealt with accordingly based upon the laws and limitation of the constitution of the State of Indiana, and of the United States of America".
