May 20th Contest Results
Results from the Sanctioned DB Dragracing Car Audio Competition on May 20th:

Jay's trophy!
Offical Results are at DBDRAGRACING.COM
Jason (Vice President) competed and was very successful in his run for a title in the "street 3-4" class. That put his 3-10" JLW3's up against anyone with 3-4 10's or 3-4 12's, which also were not using walls.
This year, some one decided to run 3-JL12W3's against Jason's 3-JL10W3's. Both competitors had an equal amount of wattage going to the subs, so the custom box showed its worth again! Jason was alittle nervous in the finals due to the match up, but Venom showed that its potency was more deadly.
Jason posted a score of 146.5 in the qualification round which was 4 db's higher than the second place competitor. Changing the music and set-up decreased his out put to 145.8 in the finals, which was about 1.5 DB higher than the 3-12's put out.

Roy (President) also competed and did not come away with first but was happy to get another reading on his set-up. Roy changed his whole set-up. Jason and Roy spent the day before the contest installing a new amp. A DB1000 replaced the 500a2 and the air pressure was imediately increased. After that improvement was made, they ran new power wire. Switching from 8 guage to 4 guage was alittle tedious, but the results were easily heard. A little amount of the power was lost due to 8 guage wire being run into the amp and grounding the amp, but switching up to 4 guage and running a different batter in the near future will defenitely improve the performance.
Because the last minute install, the settings were off and a score of 145.6 db's was the qualification round score. Then in the playoffs he posted a 145.9 db, by switching the music. Further testing will be needed to fully get the most out of the speaker/amp combination.
The Super Street 1-2NW class was full with big competitiors. First place was 153, second was 151, third and fourth were in the 149's. So, constantly upgrading is the only choice. Not fun, but exciting to see the improved results.
Surprises for the show??? An outlaw competitor in a 1982 style monte carlo was running 5-JL18w's in a diamond shape. His set-up got him a 159 with 5-18's. DAMN LOUD!
Plenty of familiar competitors from the past few shows. The usual suspects (active competitors)were making their rounds and winning or placing in their respective classes.
A dozen or more competitors were hitting in the 150's. That's a first to witness.
Class Winners
Street 3-4 146.5 Jason Carper
Super Street 1-2(NW) 153
*6th place 145.6 Roy Davis
