I lay down in my bed and smiled. I couldn't believe I did it again: smile. This guy, this complete stranger was making me smile without even being in the same room as me. I wonder how long he was staying, I wonder how long I was staying.
The next morning I woke up in a fabulous mood but couldn't put my finger on why. I thought that it might have been because of Lance but it wasn't. Some thing was going to happen, something good, I had that kind of sixth sense.
Once again my gut feelings didn't fail me. My mother came in around three o'clock with a bag.
"You're coming home" She said with a big grin plastered on he face. I couldn't believe it. I went absolutely nuts. I was locked up in this hospital for weeks, I couldn't even remember what fresh air felt like.
I got dressed and as my mom was packing my things I took the opportunity to say good bye to Lance. I walked over to his room and stopped dead in my tracks. Emanating from his room was a union of beautiful voices. I listened for a while and finally knocked.
"Come in" I heard Lance say, and I did. Scattered around the room were four other guys.
"Oh, thank God," I said." Just your friends. I thought you died and a bunch of angels came and took you away."
The guys laughed and a really curly haired one stood up and shot me a thankful smile.
"Anyway," I said as I turned to Lance," I just came to say goodbye."
"You're leaving?" He asked as he stood up and walked out with me into the hallway.
"Yea," I said " I guess my mom wanted to surprise me."
"You're really happy huh?" He asked
"Can't you tell?" I laughed as I jumped up and down a few times
"We didn't have much of a conversation last night" he told me. "Can I give you a call and maybe we could give it another go?"
"Yea, that'd be great." I smiled. It really didn't even hit me then how quickly I agreed.. He ran inside his room and came out with a pen and paper. I wrote him my number and walked back to my room. I smiled yet again, Lance and I were going to be great friends. My sixth sense told me that, and it never fails.
