Correction- I forgot to upload the picture of Sarah and Emmilou Harris yesterday! Stupid me! Sorry about that. And to top it off, there was some misinformation about the award and the event, so I've corrected that in the caption. Check it out here.

I'm so sorry for the lack of updates lately! I've been having SUCH a fun holday! Hope you have, too! Anyway, we've got lots and lots of news today!
Sarah finally wins the trial! Whooo, yeaahhhhh!! ::Does best Sarah McLachlan-style victory dance:: On Friday, December 10, the BC courts dismissed Daryl Neudorf's claims that he co-wrote songs from Touch, as well as his claims to revenues from the album. I'm so happy for her and Nettwerk, and about how this unprecidented case turned out. As Sarah says, it will protect the rights of songwriters, in this context, from now on. And hopefully more artists/producers will pay attention to these elements early on when producing albums. You can read all about it at the following links:
Sarah named Entreprenuer of the Year! ...by Canadian Business Magazine. Here are some interesting excerpts, the last of which is the main point of the article:
"...she is not only an artist, but president of a corporate entity– Sarah McLachlan Entertainment Corp., a recording and publishing company whose revenue is comprised mainly of royalty streams from record sales. (Vancouver-based Nettwerk Productions Ltd. is McLachlan's Canadian record label; in the US, it's Arista/BMG Records.) [Oh, man, I'm glad that's all cleared up! I was so confused!] She is also 100% owner of Never Get Off the Boat, a touring company (separate from her eponymous company for liability reasons), and a majority shareholder (51%) in Amp Merchandising Inc., a concert paraphernalia producer/distributor that services her own gigs and those of acts such as Jewel, Moist and Barenaked Ladies."
"...Lilith Fair (25% owned by Sarah McLachlan Entertainment) was also big business. From 1996 to 1999, it drew more than 1.5 million fans to 139 shows, grossing well in excess of US$60 million. In any endeavor, that level of achievement is worth praising. And it's the main reason McLachlan...has earned an Entrepreneur of the Year special citation for product and marketing excellence."
"'She's just a very nice person,' her manager says. 'I've dealt with a lot of artists who, when they get big, become huge prima donnas. But this girl has gone absolutely the opposite way. It's like she has no ego.'"
It's a very long article, so don't go thinking that's all it, right there. Apparently, in the actual magazine itself, it's a six-page spread, and also has pictures that aren't included on the online edition. So you may want to pick up the actual magazine itself if you live in Canada or a big city where they sell Canadian magazines. And if you do, and you have a scanner, we'd all REALLY appreciate it if you'd scan them to us!!

New Sheryl Crow CD- Sarah's duet with Sheryl Crow on Sheryl's "The Difficult Kind" is featured on the live CD of "Sheryl Crow and Friends," a.k.a. "Central Park in Blue," which aired on TV back on August 14th. It was an AWESOME performance, it was an AWESOME concert, and an this is an AWESOME live CD. It's a must have. Speaking from personal experience, the album really, truly captures the essence of seeing Sheryl in concert; that is, the songs do not fade in and out like on Mirrorball [grumble, grumble]. The whole thing is there, from the guy who introduces Sheryl at the beginning to her "Thank you, New York!!" at the very end, a la the 10,000 Maniacs' MTV Unplugged. Someone archived pictures of Sarah's performance here, but they're a bit blurry, so I might archive them myself later. But it's worth checking out. The outfit she wore was really cool, too. I want to know where this woman shops. If you know, please tell me! You can read some reviews or purchase the CD at Amazon.com.
Another note about the Blue concert: It's being re-webcasted tonight at 9:30 and on the 30th.
Recent Sarah Sightings- While Sarah is on sabbatical, I'm going to keep an eye out for pictures of her, if not just so we can all be reassured that she's still out there. :-) We can watch her hairstyles change, see what she's up to.... and well, she's planning on having little Uber-Sarahs, so it will, of course, be fun to watch her get fat! <g> :-)
Anyway, here is our most recent Sarah Sighting. It was at this year's Grammy's, presenting an award to Emmilou Harris, a fellow Lilith chick who did bg vocals for her on "Angel" on last year's tour. (Beautiful performance! It's on one of the CDs.) Her hair has grown a lot- almost to a short bob length, and she's died it a darker brown. I can't stop looking at it! I think it's very pretty. A little more mature, and conservative- something different, for a change. You know, I think her hair grows really fast, like mine does. Go to the Lilith Fair website and try comparing a pitcture of her early in the tour to a picture later in the tour. It's amazing!
Bob Marley Tribute- Sarah's performance for the Bob Marley tribute thing from earlier this month was canceled due to scheduling conflicts. And as far as I know, she has no scheduled public appearences coming up anytime soon.
Jaimie Laurita on Rosie- Oh my gosh, this was the cutest thing! Sarah's chef was on the Rosie O'Donnell show, and they cooked the Upside Down Apple Tart from Plenty.

An apology is in order for the lack/infrequency of site updates lately. There has been a lot going on in the X-Files universe, with all the season premiere hoopla and all....and therefore I've been giving my X-Files site a lot of attention, much to the expense of this one. So, I'm sorry. :-)
...Which reminds me- there's a little tidbit you may be interested to know regarding that. There was an undeniable sort of Sarah lyric reference in the X-Files season premiere. Read about it here.
Behind the Scenes of Toy Story 2- Sarah did make an appearance on the "Behind the scenes" Toy Story 2 dealie that aired last Saturday night on the Disney Channel. Her appearance was short, and we didn't find anything out that we don't already know accept for the fact that her song is a voiceover. The character does not actually sing the song, but Sarah still sings in the movie. Much like the "I Will Go Sailing No More" sequence from the last Toy Story movie, for those of you who saw it. Yes, I did get it on tape. The visuals aren't interesting enough for me to go through the trouble of digitizing it, either. Anyway, I'm very busy with schoolwork right now. Hope you understand. :-)
But remember- Toy Story 2 is being released in theaters this Wednesday!
Possibility of new Sarah song coming out soon!- From the Sarah Blog at Intothefire.com:
"Microsoft and BMG Move Digital Music Into Mainstream: It's kind of hard to wade through the corpspeak, but basically, one of Sarah's songs will be on Microsoft's Play Pack CD-ROM (in the "superior Windows Media format,") which will be distributed for free with Windows 98 SE. BMG is also starting an Artist Showcase program which will "bring fresh content from two popular artists to consumers every month during the first half of 2000." So, rumorwise, that could mean there'll be "fresh" Sarah content, although unfortunately "exclusively in [the] Windows Media format." Though, I'm sure someone will convert them to mp3s, hehe."

Sarah makes her mark as a Disney character- Go, now, and read Disney's press release for the Toy Story 2 soundtrack. Go ahead; I'll wait....Now, is it just wishful thinking or does it look like Sarah actually provides the singing voice for the character in the movie?! Gosh, after Sarah did the X-Files soundtrack, I thought it couldn't have gotten any better! I guess I was wrong!
A little info. on what the song is about- As I said before, it's called "When She Loved Me." And the character who sings it, a cowgirl doll named Jessie, has been outgrown by the girl who used to own her. And the song is about the loss she is suffering. Apparently, as we know Sarah for her exceptional ability to portray angst, this is the perfect song for Sarah to perform, and her performance is really moving.
10.31.99- Happy Halloween!! (Aren't peach and orange together ugly?!)
Jamie Laurita- Chef Jaimie Laurita, Sarah McLachlan's official tour chef, will appear on the Rosie O'Donnell Show on December 7th. Jaimie is the Sarah's official chef when she is on tour.
Datebook- Yes, I know Sarah has her own datebook on the official site, but it's not quite as up-to-date as I'd like, so I've made one of my own. I need one for myself, anyway, (And she's on sabbatical!) so I figured, why not upload it? So here you go.
More on Toy Story 2- See a full track listing on the soundtrack here. The cover of the soundtrack says "Songs by Randy Newman," so I guess that means that Sarah did not write "When She Loved Me."
Also from Drawn to the Rhythm at Intothefire.com:
"The Sarah song will also be on Disney's mass merchandising Sing-Along. 'Children will love singing along to their favorite songs from and inspired by the film, as they improve their vocabulary and reading skills.' Imagine all the potential Sarah converts!"

Toy Story 2 Soundtrack- Just found a partial track listing for the Toy Story 2 soundtrack:
- "When She Loved Me" - Sarah McLachlan
- "You've Got A Friend In Me" - Robert Goulet
- "Woody's Round Up" - Riders In The Sky
Source: Amazon.com
No word on whether she actually wrote it or not. Apparently, though, "When She Loved Me," will be the "big ballad" of the movie/soundtrack, sort of like how "You've Got a Friend in Me" was the big song for the last Toy Story movie. But I don't get why they've got a girl singing a song called "When She Loved Me." Oh well; hopefully we'll find out when the soundtrack is released on November 9th.
10.5.99
Toy Story 2 - Yeah, this is interesting, isn't it? Sarah is purportedly slated to sing a ballad on the soundtack album of the sequel to Disney's CGI wonder, Toy Story. Being a Woody fan myself, I'm absolutlely delighted about this one! And moreover, it's something new and different for her to do as well. Toy Story 2 is due out November 24th , if I remember correctly from movie theater previews. I'm trying to find out more.
Mirrorball Video - The Mirrorball performance will be released October 12th on DVD and VHS. Mark your calandars!

"I Will Remember You" moves McCartney to tears - A few days ago, I heard on the radio that Paul McCartney recently attended a live performance of "I Will Remember You," was moved to tears, and had to leave. He reportedly said that it reminded him of his wife. Awww...
Banner page is up- Check out my new Banner Page. :-)
9.17.99
Rosie O'Donnell Show transcript is up- Sorry it took longer than I said it would! Read it here. I added some images, too!
Sights of Sarah- I fixed a bunch of the HTML errors on the Sights of Sarah page, and I also added pictures of Sarah's appearances on the Rosie O'Donnell Show.
Discography under construction- Actually, this whole dang site is under construction! So please watch your step, and I apologize for any inconveniences.
9.14.99
Sarah on Rosie- Sarah was on the Rosie O'Donnel show yesterday. She performed "Angel." It wasn't the most wonderful performance, but the interview was great. Rosie really seemed to like her. Sarah made a little slip up, though....On national television. Check back here tomorrow for the details in the transcript!
Sarah on "Sheryl Crow and Friends" tonight!- I am recording it, since I've got to work tonight. [Grumble, grumble.] Same deal with Rosie yesterday. I had piano. But it all worked out. :-)
Site updates- Since this week is rare in the fact that there is a LOT of Sarah news going on, I am updating frequently. But since Sarah is taking a sabbatical, things may die down a bit soon. And I have a hectic schedule, anyway....So, the point is that updates here, will not appear on a regular schedule of any sort.
And so, to help you out, I'm going to start a OneList e-mailing system, where you submit your e-dress and I'll e-mail all of you when there are updates to this site or any other sites. I'm usually very up on the latest Sarah news, and I have lots of stuff that I'll be putting up here whenever I have the time. (I still have yet to tell you about my Lilith Fair experience this year!) So e-mail me if you're interested. I assure you that it is perfectly safe, and I will not abuse your e-dress in any way.

Lots and LOTS of news today!! :-)
My first banners!- Check it out! I made 3 new banners for my site! Oh, I'm so proud of myself! Feel free to (In other words, please do...!) save them and slap 'em on your own page.
Mirrorball has gone platinum!! And Surfacing is 7x platinum! It was still on the Rolling Stone charts last time I checked. Good for you, Sarah! (As if she's reading this...)
Lilith Wraps Up- Well, Lilith Fair has come to an end until who-knows-when, and Sarah is taking a sabbatical. Gosh, I'm gonna miss her. E-mail me and we can cry about it together. :-( Here are some links to articles on it:
Heads Home Happy- Calgary Sun
Lilith's Last Stand- From Launch.com
There are a million others out there. Check out Intothefire.com for more. They're loaded with input!
Remembering Lilith- There will, of course be Lilith '99 compilation albums released in 2000 as well as a documentary film. (Sounds exciting!)
The Last of Lilith is Already Not the Last of Sarah!- Sarah is taking a sabbatical, but apparently she can't give performances up cold turkey:
On September 13th on CBS, Sarah will perform "Angel" on the Rosie O'Donnell Show.
On September 14th on FOX, 9-10pm.: "Sheryl Crow and Friends" featuring Sarah, Eric Clapton, and others.
On November 1st, PBS will air the 1-hour 'Surfacing Live' special originally shown on Canadian TV back in June.
On December 19th at 8 p.m. ET/PT, the cable network TNT plans to broadcast "Bob Marley All-Star Tribute," with a DVD and VHS version of the concert slated for release a few weeks after it airs. Sarah will be performing.
Mark your calandars everyone!
A litte Off-topic, but related- Paula Cole's official website has been made over to go with her new album, entitled Amen, which is slated for a September 28th release. A weird thing I noticed- the site refers to not "Paula Cole," but the "Paula Cole Band." Has it always been like that?
Sarah is NOT pregnant!- I've been hearing rumors that Sarah is already pregnant, and, well, I don't believe them. Wait for an official announcement before you get to talking, OK, people?
And last but not least, a hilarious little interview on Lilith from Spin magazine.
That's it for today! :-)

Paula Cole News- I just found out that Paula Cole is coming out with a new album called Amen. Great title, in my opinion, knowing that "Amen" actually means "I believe." (See? I did pay attention in Bible class!) No word on tracks or release date. Keep checking at Paula Cole's Official Website for more information.
Columbus Lilith- I'm off to Columbus, Ohio this Monday, REALLY early in the morning.. Aside from manicures, facials, and a college visit to the Columbus College of Art and Design (CCAD.com), the girls and I will be attending Lilith Fair on Tuesday. You know- girlie stuff. :-)
I'm hoping that it'll turn out to be a good show, since Sarah had food poisoning for last year's Columbus Lilith. You can read about that here. Sinead O'Connor put a cute little twist to it. ;-)
Vital info on the Columbus Lilith:
-Bree Sharp has been added to the 3rd stage lineup. I sort of expected 2nd stage, but oh well, I am thrilled to hear this bit of news! If you've never heard of her, you might want to. Rolling Stone called her "The Cinderella story of 1999." Her popularity is growing very quickly in many large cities, because of the song she wrote about her infatuation with the drop-dead gorgeous X-Files star David Duchovny. It's known as, "The witty little ditty 'David Duchovny (Why Won't You Love Me)'" or more simply "David Duchovny." You can listen to clips of it at the Bree Sharp website (Follow the link above.). It's really cute, and so is the unofficial video, which features some unbelievable celebrity cameos. (E-mail me for more info.) The official one is in the works.
It's funny, I bought her latest album, A Cheap and Evil Girl, in a Chicago Musicland store today, knowing that I should probably buy a Pretenders or Indigo Girls CD or Sheryl Crow's The Globe Sessions, so that I could sing along with someone other than Sarah McLachlan at Lilith. So I kinda felt stupid, (even though I love the CD) until I got home and found out the news of Bree's addition to Lilith, from the Lilith Fair website. Just my luck, eh?
-The Columbus Lilith will be webcast using Quicktime 4.0. I'll be the gorgeous chic in the 27th row, singing along and waving at the camera. :-) More info. on the webcast at LilithFair.com.
I'm so psyched!! I get to see Sarah McLachlan, Sheryl Crow, the Pretenders, the Indigo Girls, Bree Sharp, and Deborah Cox all in one day!! This weekend I'll be purchasing a new SLR still camera so my pictures don't turn out as horribly as they did this year. If they do turn out well, I'll be sure to post them here, as soon as I get them developed. There'll definitely be a page dedicated to it. :-)
Lilith Fair Website Updates- If you haven't visited the official Lilith Fair site lately, you MUST go now! They update it every day with reviews, pics, journal entries, videos, polls, and various information. It's a beautiful site as well.
6.19.99
There's always something significant about June 19th. I don't know why. It's when Lilith Fair kicked off last year, it's the day that The Lion King came out in theaters, and it's the day that The X-Files movie came out in theaters, too. There's lots of other stuff, too. Wierd. Anyway...
I made an archive of Sarah's performance of "Angel" at this year's Blockbuster Awards. (See above.) It was the best performance there, and the best performance of "Angel" that I've ever seen. It was wonderful! So check out that archive, especially if you missed it. There are 25 images, and soon there will be a .WAV or .MP3 of it, and an .AVI.
Go to: Sarah's performance of "Angel" at the '99 Blockbuster Awards...
There are some great, up-to-date sites that have some interesting news bits for you to check out in my Places to Go section. But I did see Sarah in my People magazine today.
Check it out here.
