RZA Interviewed about Inspectah Deck and Upcoming Album

Below is Rza's thoughts Inspectah Deck & upcoming album from an interview:

Uncontrolled Substance ' ( Loud, 1999 )

"I consider him the most underrated member of the Wu-Tang. He's a lyrical mastermind, a street prophet. Like Raekwon is a street politician, Deck is a street prophet. He speak right from the streets and gives you true stories from the street. You can hear ' CREAM ' and hear both stories from Reakwon and Deck, you still get two different sides of the same block. He's like the watcher. His album is called ' Uncontrolled Substance ' and thats scheldued for January. He's incredible, he's a real rec room emcee. He kills it."

Two New Singles Out On The Street From "Uncontrolled Substance"

I am very lucky to announce that I got two new singles in AUDIO from Inspectah Deck's new album "Uncontrolled Substance". They are 'Show and Prove' and 'Word on the Street' and their in RealAudio in this site right now. Another track out is 'God Is In You' but its surfing around somewhere. When I get a hold of it, I'll put it in the AUDIO section.

In other album news... It is now rumoured Decks album will be pushed a bit, maybe just a week or two, to make room for Ghostface Killah's album. This is just a rumour so don't stress on it.

"Uncontrolled Substance" Is The Next Project On WU's List

I personally listened to RZA on the "Mastermind Street Jam", a Toronto Hip-Hop radio show, and heard some interesting figures. It so happens that Inspectah Deck's album will be out in late January/early Febuary time. Or possibly earlier. Although WU is never on time with production dates, RZA was sure of the album's schedule.

In other news... already, 2 new tracks from his "Uncontrolled Substance" have premiered on the "Stretch & Bobbito" radio show. The tracks are believed to be titled 'God Is In You' and 'Word on the Street'. The Loud promo 'Brolic' also features a sample of 'R.E.C. Room' which is most likely the first single to the upcoming album.

Inspectah Deck Interviewed by MTV on new album.

"Uncontrolled Substance," is due out in late December.

Like most of the Wu member's solo projects, "Substance" features a host of the Clan's entourage, including Ghostface Killah and Raekwon as the album's producers, while U-God, Masta Killa and the Killer Army turn up on various cuts from the record.

"'Uncontolled Substance' is the next level of hip-hop, But it's the old level. It's like bringing bell bottoms back," Deck said.

"'Cause when you separate [hip hop], you've got watered-down rap, sugar-corn pop, hip-hip pop, this, that and the third. I'm just classified with the art form of hip hop, the culture and the way of life I grew up with"

While Deck's new record may mark a change of sorts from that of his base group, the rapper described "Substance," as an album that, like those of the Wu-Tang, revels in the power of the truth via real-life situations and commentary.

"You're going to keep all the young ones who are coming up in this," Deck said, "you're gonna keep them blind by telling them what they want to hear. You got to tell [people] the truth. They might not want to hear the truth ... the truth hurts. But I'd rather you tell me the truth than lie to me in my face"

Deck is currently producing the next record from fellow Wu-Tanger Method Man in addition to a new group, Street Life.
