I’ve had my eyes on him for a while. Every time he and his family come in, I have to stop working. I don’t know exactly what brings me toward him. Maybe it’s his sweet brown eyes.
Anyway, there I was, sitting on my favorite rock at the park doing my Algebra 2 homework.
“What is that formula?!?” I asked aloud in despair. I had been looking for that formula for the past half hour.
“Negative b plus or minus the square root of: b squared minus four a c all over two a.” a male voice behind me said. I turned my head to find myself staring into his eyes.
“Thanks.” I said.
“You’re welcome.” He said.
“What was that again?” I asked and wrote it down as he repeated the formula.
“Thanks again. I swear he expects us to just know everything.” I said, making an effort to carry on a conversation.
“Where do you go to school?” he asked.
“East Furio.” I replied. He nodded. “What about you?”
“Warner Hills.” I raised my eyebrows.
“You go to Warner Hills?” He nodded. “You must be rich!” I said. Of course, I already knew that, considering that I work at his country club and I live in a lower class neighborhood. He shrugged. I smiled at him.
“Well, I should probably get back to my homework.” He nodded again.
“I don’t think I caught your name.”
“It’s Colleen.” I said.
“Hi. I’m Isaac.”
“Hi.” And then he left and I almost fell off my rock. I have no clue why I ended the conversation. I looked over at the road and saw a red Porsche slowly pass and honk. I noticed Isaac was driving the lovely expensive car and waved. That time I actually fell off the rock.
