A wealthy man took his son on a trip to the country so the child could see how poor some people were.

They stayed a day with a humble country family and, at the end of the trip, the father asked the son a question.

"Did you notice how poor they were?"

"Yes."

"What did you learn?"

"I learned that we have one dog in the house and they have four. We have a fountain in the garden and they have a stream. We have imported lamps in the garden and they have the stars. Our garden goes to the edge of our property and their backyard goes to the horizon.

At the end of the son's reply the father was speechless and his son added:

"I guess I learned how poor we really are."
