"Man is the only animal that plants grass in the spring, then fights its’ growth all summer."
As we have entered into Spring, I can identify with the above statement as I hear the lawnmowers whirring in the background of this neighborhood. But, just as we have some new beginnings at this time of year, we are coming to the final weeks in some other areas of our lives. The "3-D" groups are in the latter stages for this semester. Speaking for the Monday afternoon group, I can say that we have had a great time of fellowship and some pounds have been lost. Skip Wear from Salon 909 came and spoke to our group and helped us "discover some simple tools that help us all look our best." He emphasized that our spiritual relationship was very important and that our look should radiate this relationship. Everyone in "3-D" Option #2 had a great time sharing, laughing at ourselves, and improving our outlook. Watch for further class times in the Fall and become a part of a great fellowship.
A big thank you to Lonnie, Kathy, Midge, Phyllis, Linda and Nick (members of the Wellness Committee) for their assistance in the presentation of Care for Aging Parents Seminar: "Home Sweet Home".
As summer approaches we will schedule Blood Pressure Screenings once a month. The schedule is as follows: May 26, June 23, July 21, and August 18 from 9:00-9:30 AM. Mark your calendars!
Thought for the Day: "Real Mothers know that a child’s growth is not measured by height or years or grade...It is marked by the progression of Mama to Mommy to Mom..."
