Ororo walked out of the kitchen's glass double doors and smiled. "Here we are, as I promised. Coffee and cheesecake." She handed him a cup, and cut him a slice.
"Thanks. Smells great." He picked up the fork and promptly dug in.
Ororo sipped her coffee and looked at the sky. "Tell me about yourself Logan." She said, looking back down at him.
Logan sighed and put down his fork. "Well, I was born in Canada. I came to America with my parents at about 12. We lived here while my dad got construction work. When I was about eighteen I went into the army. Stayed there for about ten years. When I got out, I realized I didn't have a job, or a way to support myself. Everyone said I had a talent for architecture, so I went to Berkley. The rest is history. I founded a company with my friend Victor, who was a big shot in construction. I dream it up, he builds it." He grinned at her. "So, what's up with your New York accent?"
Ororo laughed. "I was born in New York City, where I met Charles Xavier. I was about six years old, and my parents had abandoned me. He took me in and did some investigating. He found out my last name was Munroe, and adopted me. He lavished almost all of his attention on me, and gave me what my heart desired, and lessons in everything.
I took equestrian, gymnastics, ballet, fencing, karate and Tai kwon do. He was obsessed with giving me all the tools to be a complete person. I sort of missed out on dating, with all my classes." She said wistfully. She brightened. "Would you like to take a tour of the grounds?"
"I wouldn't mind. That would be great." He took the last sip of his coffee and stood up. Ororo smiled and they walked across the patio down a small flight of stairs.
"This is the pool…" She pointed to a large outdoor Olympic pool with a waterfall flowing into it from above on their left..
"Wow…so you could just run from the patio, splash into the waterfall and jump from the it." Logan said, admiring the feel of the area.
"Yes, I admit I've done that before." Ororo said, laughing. She then turned and started walking down a path. "Come on, I'll show you my dance studio." Logan followed her through a thickly shaded path to a slightly secluded clearing. "This used to be the pool house, until I got to it." She smiled as they crossed the short lawn and up the marble steps.
Ororo opened the door and millions of scents assaulted Logan's nose. Salt sea air, fragrant flowers and the slight smell of sweat to name a few.
It was a wide circular room, with a polished hardwood floor and a high ceiling. There wasn't a far wall, just open space overlooking a group of horses in a paddock.
"Is this where you make up your routines?" Logan asked, his voice echoing.
Ororo laughed. "No. Not much creativity is need to shake your bon bon." She winked at him.
"Why were you there anyway?"
"Long story." Her smiled disappeared, and it was his fault. "So maybe you'll show me your moves." Her smile returned… yeah, there we go…
"I'd like that." She looked away briefly. "Would you like to see my horses?"
"Sure." Logan followed her across the room and down another pair of steps. "How many horses do you have?" he asked as he reached the paddock.
"Three. Pegasus…" She pointed to a white thoroughbred, "Phoenix…" she petted the red appaloosa that wandered close, "And Tornado." She pointed to a large, stocky Shetland.
"He's a bit more muscular than the others, isn't he?" Logan asked as Phoenix nuzzled him.
"Yeah. He's my warhorse, I always say. He won't let anyone else ride him but me."
They started walking on the path again, and it led to past a jumping course and a greenhouse.
"Do you like to swing?" Ororo asked, pointing to a swing set.
"Sure." Logan said. They walked over, the illumination from the moon and the soft lights of the path making everything clear. They swung in silence for a couple of minutes, the cool breeze rustling the large leaves of the bushes surrounding them.
"So, do you have a big green thumb?" Ororo looked at Logan in confusion. "the greenhouse." He pointed to it.
"Oh! You could say that. I'm a botanist."
"Really?"
"Yes. I have a PhD in Botany from Harvard." She laughed at Logan's impressed face. She sobered up. "I graduated not long before Charles grew sick." She sighed.
"what happened?" He asked softly.
"He went to the doctor complaining of severe headaches. After several tests he was found to have a brain tumor in his frontal lobe. They operated twice, and gave him three chemotherapy treatments, though advised against it. They still couldn't get it all." She said sadly. Logan reached out and grasped her hand. It was cool and soft to the touch as her slender fingers curled against his own.
"Do you want to continue?" Logan asked, the reflection of tears on Ororo's smooth coffee skin.
She drew in a shuddering breath and nodded. "I watched him get weaker with every extremity of season. We moved out her for the steady climate. He had this house built, and for a while he seemed to be better. But it only lasted for a year and a half.
I had to watch the strongest man in my life waste away. We both knew he was dying, but I couldn't deal with it. Near the end he requested to go back to New York. He wanted to die at home." She closed her eyes. "Only Eric Lensherr, his best friend in the whole world, and myself was present when he died.
Cain Marko, his horrible step brother heard of his death and came with his hands open. The will was read, and he wasn't happy. Charles left Eric with enough to see him through to the rest of his life, and then some. Everything else he left to me.
I was dating someone in California at the time, and he wanted me to return, especially when Marko threatened me. I refused to give him money."
"Is he still after you?" Logan asked as Ororo dried her tears.
"No, thank goodness." They swung a little while longer, enjoying the stars and silence.
"You know `Ro, you're especially beautiful in the moonlight." He was rewarded by a gorgeous smile. They stood and stared to walk back to the house. Logan kept looking at Ororo, who seemed to have been caught up in her own thoughts.
The only things on Logan's mind were her hips…her lips…her hair…her scent… He wanted to kiss her badly, but he didn't want to take advantage of her emotional stat-
Logan's thoughts were cut off by Ororo's lips landing on his. Her delicate arms encircled his neck as eh drew her closer, deepening the kiss.
He gently explored, his tongue igniting a fire wherever it touched. Ororo moaned breathlessly as their tongues slid across each other gently, firmly, almost at war with lust as their fuel. All the blood rushed from Logan's brain to his groin as he became aware of Ororo's breasts through her thin shirt. She excited him like no woman had before, the taste of her alone was almost orgasmic. She tasted slightly like mint, and wide blue sky. Her fingers stole up his neck, finding all of the sensitive spots, making him pant with desire. Logan's hands slid up her ribcage, his thumbs brushing against the large swell of her breasts. Ororo groaned as she felt his hands seemingly all over her body. Logan's erection was full fledged, insistent as he held her in his arms, her body stoking the fire within. He could barely breathe, barely think…
Logan pulled away desperately. Looking at Ororo, he saw her confusion and desire. "What's wrong? Was it not pleasurable to you?"
"Ororo, you turn me on like nothing ever has…but a man can only take so much without wanting to go all the way." He said, adjusting his pants.
She regained the ability to think and took a deep breath. "Logan…Logan, I thank you. I don't think I would have stopped you." She smiled.
Logan glanced at his watch. "Wow, eleven thirty. I have to get home, got work really early." He said apologetically.
"I understand. We both have a busy day." She grabbed his hand and they walked back to her house, enjoying the walk and the silence. "So, when can I see you again?" Logan asked as they ascended the stairs beside the pool.
"As soon as possible." She kissed him on the cheek, causing Logan to grin like a madman.
"I can live with that." He said as he held open the French doors that led inot the kitchen.
"I will call though. I `m taking sometime off from the laboratory so I can oversee the building of the institute and the academy."
"Then I'll be able to see you more often." Logan said as they reached her front door.
"Have a good night Logan." Ororo said as she came closer. "You too darlin'." He said, kissing her gently . He stepped out of her embrace and walked out the door, knowing if he stayed any longer he wouldn't be leaving tonight.
Ororo watched him walk down the steps to his car. Once he was safely inside, she closed the door and walked into the living room. On the sofa she sees Logan's leather jacket.
She rushed over and grabbed it, trying to get to Logan before he left. Opening the door, she saw Logan turning at the end of the long drive.
Ororo closed the door, hugging the jacket close to her. It was comforting, and it smelled like him, nature, and an illusive animalistic smell. She sat down on the couch and drifted to sleep, holding Logan's jacket.
