Topic:  Grammar

Target audience:  4-6 grades

Objective:  The student will be able to identify the parts of speech and will be
                  able to use the knowledge to apply it in the exercises, games, and
                  test in this unit.

Goals:  As a result of this unit lesson, the student will:
            1.  recognize and remember the eight parts of speech
            2.  explain how the parts of speech are used in a sentence
            3.  practice filling in sentences with the appropriate part of speech
            4.  distinguish between the functions of each part of speech
            5.  compose sentences
            6.  evaluate and select the appropriate words for different sentences

            This grammar unit addresses the following Illinois Learning Standards:
           3.A.2, 18.A.2, 28.D.2a,  and  29.A.2
