This curriculum unit is being developed to help students, especially those that are learning English as a second language, practifce their grammar skills.  This unit addresses the specific needs of ESL students.  Since English is not their dominant language, these students need a modified curriculum as well as much reinforcement in their learning.
    This instructional unit is different from other existing instructional resources because many of the ESL resources are targeted for adults - not kids.  Even though there are many resources on grammar that is intended for kids, it does not necessarily address the needs of ESL students.  This unit has combined the best resources from these areas to create this instructional unit.
    Although this unit was designed with the students of Highcrest Middle School in mind, it is hoped that ESL students from around the world will be able to benefit from using this unit plan.
